During the event, a delegation of young Hong Kong scientists visited the R&D center of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group and other enterprises, industrial parks, and universities, gaining first-hand insights into the current state of local businesses and Shijiazhuang’s industrial development, thereby strengthening mutual understanding, exchange, and cooperation with the city.
At the Group’s Research and Development Center, Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of the R&D Center, accompanied the delegation on a tour of the center’s laboratories and provided a detailed overview of the Group’s innovation system, its distinctive R&D capabilities, and the innovative achievements it has attained in recent years.
During the event, the Hong Kong Young Scientists Delegation also held a symposium on Hebei–Hong Kong cooperation in science and technology innovation with representatives from Shijiazhuang’s innovation and technology sector and other relevant stakeholders, exchanging insights on research collaboration and talent-driven innovation. Sun Lijie, Group Executive President and Director of the R&D Center, was invited to attend the symposium and delivered a speech focusing on the mutual exchange of scientific and technological talent, collaborative projects in science and technology innovation, and the coordinated development of innovation-driven industries.
During the cordial discussion, young scientists from both sides focused on the exchange of science and technology talent and collaboration on research projects, exploring the establishment of a regular mechanism for youth scientific and technological exchanges between the two regions to promote mutual learning and cross-fertilization in areas such as technological innovation and industrial upgrading. Both sides expressed the hope that this initiative would serve as a catalyst for building a pragmatic and effective platform for the development of young talent in the two regions going forward.
According to reports, the symposium is part of the “Hebei–Hong Kong Together: Co-creating a Science and Innovation Future—Hong Kong Young Scientists Visit Shijiazhuang” initiative. This initiative aims to fully leverage Hong Kong’s strengths in talent, capital, and technology to further expand exchanges between Shijiazhuang and Hong Kong in the science and technology sector, facilitate the mutual flow of innovation talent, promote collaboration on science and technology projects, and foster coordinated development of the innovation-driven industries.
