【SUMMARY】 Recently, in the city-wide competition for technological innovation and performance improvement among enterprise employees—jointly organized by the Shijiazhuang Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau—two employee innovation projects submitted by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. were awarded: the project “Key Technological Development and Industrialization of Respiratory System Drugs” received the Second Prize for Breakthrough Innovation by Enterprise Employees, while the project “Research and Application of Key Technologies for Double-Layer Aseptic Infusion” was honored with the First Prize for Leading Innovation by Model Workers and Skilled Craftsmen in Enterprises.

Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Employees’ Innovative Achievements Achieve Outstanding Results in the City-Wide Competition for Employee Innovation in Science, Technology, and Economic Efficiency

Recently, in the city-wide competition for technological innovation and performance improvement among enterprise employees—jointly organized by the Shijiazhuang Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau—Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical submitted two employee innovation projects: “Development of Key Technologies for Respiratory System Drugs and Their Industrialization” and “Research and Application of Key Technologies for Double-Layer Aseptic Infusion.” These two projects respectively won the Second Prize for Breakthrough Innovation by Enterprise Employees and the First Prize for Leading Innovation by Model Workers and Skilled Craftsmen in the competition.

As a common and frequently occurring disease category, respiratory disorders have made the development of age- and child-friendly pharmaceutical formulations one of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical’s key R&D priorities. Given the inherent challenges associated with such products—namely high technical complexity, intricate manufacturing processes, and stringent safety requirements—the company’s employee innovation team has upheld core principles while embracing innovative approaches. The team has pooled resources to tackle critical technological hurdles in the development and industrialization of respiratory drugs, optimizing and upgrading conventional material-handling methods while pioneering new processes and technologies, including a sealed conveying system for hygroscopic powders and an analytical method for raw-material testing. To date, the team has participated in the formulation of four national standards and secured seven authorized patents. These innovations have effectively enhanced the company’s quality and efficiency; several marketed products for the treatment of respiratory diseases have been selected for national centralized drug procurement as well as inter-provincial and local joint procurement initiatives, thereby expanding product accessibility and achieving a win-win outcome that delivers both economic and social benefits.

As a leading enterprise in China’s large-volume parenteral solutions industry, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical is not only accelerating fundamental, innovative, and forward-looking research on its large-volume infusion product pipeline but also, in light of practical industrialization needs, leveraging the active role of model worker and artisan talent innovation studios in driving quality improvement, efficiency gains, and service innovation. The research and application project on key technologies for double-layer sterile infusion solutions represents a mass-based technological problem-solving initiative undertaken by the staff team of the model worker and artisan talent innovation studio to address critical bottlenecks—such as the instability, susceptibility to degradation, and propensity for oxidation of active ingredients in complex infusion formulations. Through dedicated efforts, the project has yielded four original breakthroughs. By applying these innovative technologies, the company’s newly developed peritoneal dialysis solution was the first to pass the bioequivalence and therapeutic equivalence evaluation for generic drugs, while its sodium bicarbonate injection was recognized as one of the first batch of patent-intensive products at the national level, thereby setting a strong example and providing valuable guidance within the industry.

According to reports, a total of 53 innovative achievements were recognized in Shijiazhuang’s enterprise employee competition for technological innovation and performance improvement, comprehensively and from multiple perspectives showcasing the innovative concepts, tangible results, and future prospects of these achievements.
