Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group Participates in a Special Research Symposium on the Establishment of Hebei Province’s Innovation Consortium

To promote the steady and healthy development of innovation consortia in our province, and in conjunction with the research project on soft science conducted by the Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Think Tank, on the morning of February 21, the Hebei Provincial Association for Science and Technology Enterprise Incubation organized experts from the think tank to conduct a special field study of two innovation consortia: the “Hebei Provincial Innovation Consortium for Novel Drug Formulations and Delivery Technologies,” led by Shiyao Group Holdings Limited, and the “Hebei Provincial Innovation Consortium for Liquid Sterile Preparations,” led by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group. A symposium was also convened following the field study. Relevant officials in charge of consortium construction from Shiyao Group and Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, along with think tank experts from the provincial incubation association, attended the symposium, which was chaired by Li Jing, Secretary-General of the Hebei Provincial Association for Science and Technology Enterprise Incubation.
During the symposium, Zhang Yu, General Manager of the Patent and Government Affairs Department of the R&D and Innovation Committee of Shiyao Group; Wang Xu, Director of the same department; Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of the R&D Center of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group; and Chang Jingli, Executive Deputy General Manager of the Strategic Development and Human Resources Center of the same group, each presented an overview of the establishment, operational management, key research tasks, and progress and outcomes of the innovation consortium they had spearheaded. They also engaged in exchanges with think-tank experts on their respective organizations’ approaches and achievements in leveraging industry-specific characteristics, building on corporate strengths, and harnessing market mechanisms to advance collaborative innovation among industry, academia, and research institutions and accelerate breakthroughs in consortium-led projects. In addition, they put forward recommendations on such topics as pathways for building innovation consortia in the biopharmaceutical sector, mechanisms for industry–academia–research collaboration, and supportive policies to encourage investment in pharmaceutical R&D.
Relevant corporate executives and think-tank experts who attended the symposium agreed that now is the right time—and that there is great potential—for our province to advance the establishment of innovation consortia. Going forward, it is essential to closely align efforts with the province’s objectives for building such consortia, fully implement the Provincial Department of Science and Technology’s directives on this work, leverage the leading role of flagship enterprises, strengthen collaboration among consortium members, foster close horizontal links with science-and-technology think tanks and technology-service institutions, and thereby pool resources and synergies to effectively realize the goals of innovation-consortium development in Hebei Province.
