On March 21, the broad-spectrum triazole antifungal voriconazole dry suspension, submitted by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, was approved for registration by the National Medical Products Administration and is deemed to have passed the bioequivalence evaluation, making the company the fourth in China to receive such approval. To date, the Group has had 120 drug varieties comprising 159 dosage forms either pass or be deemed to have passed the bioequivalence evaluation.

According to available information, voriconazole is an antifungal agent and an improved formulation of fluconazole, which can enhance medication adherence in pediatric patients.
“Voriconazole dry suspension is a commonly used medication for the treatment of invasive fungal infections in children and has been included by the National Health Commission in the ‘Third Batch of the List of Pediatric Drugs Encouraged for Research and Development and Application.’” According to a responsible official from the Group’s R&D Center, in recent years the company has taken it as its mission to develop and manufacture more “Made-in-China” medicines. In response to unmet clinical needs, the company has actively pursued the development of pediatric formulations, continuously addressing the medication requirements of children and better serving society.
