On April 10, the newly submitted 1,000 mL specification of sodium bicarbonate Ringer’s injection by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group was approved for registration by the National Medical Products Administration and is deemed to have passed the evaluation of quality and therapeutic equivalence for generic drugs.
To date, the Group offers sodium bicarbonate Ringer’s injection in 500 mL and 1,000 mL specifications, with a cumulative total of 122 drug varieties encompassing 165 dosage forms that have either passed or are deemed to have passed the consistency evaluation. The Group continues to lead the industry in both the number of new product applications submitted and the number of approvals granted.
According to available information, sodium bicarbonate Ringer’s injection is primarily used for replenishing extracellular fluid in cases of reduced circulating blood volume and interstitial fluid depletion, as well as for correcting metabolic acidosis.
According to data from MeneNet, the product’s market size across China’s three major distribution channels—urban public hospitals, county-level public hospitals, and township health centers—exceeds RMB 100 million. Sales reached approximately RMB 450 million in 2022, about RMB 300 million in 2023, and roughly RMB 70 million in the first half of 2024.
