On May 15, the riluzole active pharmaceutical ingredient developed by Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, was approved by the National Medical Products Administration and registered as an API for use in marketed dosage forms.

To date, the Group has received approval for a total of 77 active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) products, including 33 bulk and specialty APIs approved for China Dragon Pharmaceutical.
According to available information, riluzole is indicated for prolonging the survival of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or delaying the progression of the disease to the point where mechanical ventilation becomes necessary.
