Recently, the list of award-winning achievements from the 2025 Shijiazhuang City Enterprise Employee Science and Technology Innovation and Efficiency-Improvement Competition, jointly organized by the Shijiazhuang Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, was announced. The project “Key Technological Development and Industrialization of the Dry Suspension Drug Series,” submitted by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical, was awarded the Second Prize for Breakthrough Innovative Achievements among Enterprise Employees in the competition. This marks another significant accomplishment for the company in its mass innovation initiatives this year.

To address the issue of dosage-form suitability in medication administration among children, the elderly, and patients with dysphagia, traditional tablets and capsules impose relatively high swallowing requirements, whereas liquid formulations, although easier to take, suffer from poor stability, stringent storage requirements, and a short shelf life. To meet diverse clinical medication needs, the employee innovation team at Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. conducted in-depth clinical research and systematically advanced the key technological development and industrial application of a series of dry suspension formulations. The team has carried out more than 20 related research projects, obtained seven national patents, and established seven pharmaceutical standards, thereby facilitating the approval and market launch of multiple products, including stibiphenol dry suspension, azithromycin dry suspension, oseltamivir phosphate dry suspension, cefuroxime axetil dry suspension, cefaclor dry suspension, and linezolid dry suspension, thus providing clinicians with a broader range of safe and effective therapeutic options.
In recent years, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical has continuously deepened collaborative innovation among industry, academia, research institutions, and end-users, emphasizing the active role of model workers and skilled artisans in tackling technical challenges and providing leadership within teams. The company has coordinated and advanced the R&D of innovative drugs, generic drugs, specialty APIs, and products undergoing consistency evaluation. Notably, it has achieved breakthroughs in pediatric- and geriatric-friendly formulations; for instance, the “orphan drug” stiripentol dry suspension for the treatment of Dravet syndrome represents a landmark case of the team successfully overcoming patent barriers associated with the original drug’s synthesis process and achieving independent innovation in both the process route and the drug formulation method. This project has resulted in four invention patents, effectively ensuring therapeutic efficacy and patient safety, enhancing product accessibility, and serving as a benchmark for technological advancement in the industry.
According to reports, this city-wide competition and exchange event for enterprise employees in Shijiazhuang on technological innovation and performance improvement has recognized a total of 50 outstanding achievements, including breakthrough innovations by enterprise employees, pioneering innovations led by model workers and skilled artisans, and innovative outcomes from the “Five Smalls” initiative. These accolades fully showcase the spirit of bold innovation and proactive dedication among the city’s industrial workforce in the new era, as well as their distinctive contemporary flair.
