“He just can’t stay idle—year in, year out, he’s always busy, and you hardly ever see him. He can’t even lend a hand with anything at home. We’d planned to give him a break during this spring vacation so he could spend some quality time with the kids, but then the pandemic hit. These days, our workplace simply can’t do without him, so he’s been leaving early and coming home late, working from dawn till dusk. Right now is the busiest time for a pharmaceutical company—saving lives comes first, and the whole family fully understands and supports him.” At that moment, Li Ligong’s wife, Li Hui, had tears welling up in her eyes.
During this extraordinary time in the fight against the epidemic, faced with the urgent need for medications on the front lines of prevention and control, he fully understands the critical importance of ensuring robust emergency storage and transportation support. “In these exceptional circumstances, coordinating logistics—especially interprovincial transport—presents numerous challenges. “It is our duty to safeguard our territory, and we must fulfill that duty to the fullest.” Over the past few days, the Storage and Transportation Department of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical has transformed itself—from a corporate operations-support unit working “against the tide”—into the front line of emergency support for epidemic prevention and control. From New Year’s Eve through the fifth day of the first lunar month, the department consecutively received four batches of urgent orders to supply emergency medicines to Wuhan and other regions.
As soon as an instruction arrived, he would do everything possible to coordinate transport capacity and direct the dispatch of products. In the current situation, where securing a single truck is extremely difficult, he tirelessly and patiently appealed to one logistics company after another for assistance. “Given the present circumstances—and with the Spring Festival just around the corner—coordinating transport capacity is indeed far more challenging, so we must redouble our efforts many times over.” Over six days of steadfast dedication, the Storage and Transportation Department dispatched more than 10,000 shipments of pharmaceuticals to Wuhan and Enshi in Hubei Province, as well as to neighboring provinces and cities, successfully completing the first phase of the company’s mission to provide emergency medicines to front-line prevention and control efforts. The effort was highly praised by customers, who commended Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical for its excellent transportation support.
