On March 19, the calcium chloride active pharmaceutical ingredient developed by Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, successfully changed its registration status to “A” at the Center for Drug Evaluation of the National Medical Products Administration, thereby qualifying as an API for use in marketed dosage forms. To date this year, the Group has received approval for seven new specialty APIs.

To date this year, the Group has received approval for seven new specialty API products.
According to available information, calcium chloride is an inorganic salt and an electrolyte supplement that can be used to treat calcium deficiency, acute hypocalcemia, alkalosis, tetany caused by hypoparathyroidism, vitamin D deficiency, allergic disorders, magnesium toxicity, fluorine poisoning, and for resuscitation in cardiac arrest, such as in cases of hyperkalemia, hypocalcemia, or cardiac dysfunction induced by calcium channel blockers.
In recent years, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has steadily intensified its efforts in the development of specialty APIs, strategically positioning and expanding its portfolio of such products, continuously optimizing its product mix, and deepening the integrated “API–formulation” development model. To date, the Group has accumulated a total of 98 bulk and specialty API varieties, including 44 under the China Dragon Pharmaceutical brand, thereby effectively linking APIs with formulations into a cohesive value chain and leveraging this synergy to drive high-quality corporate growth.
