To recognize and honor enterprises that made outstanding contributions during the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, the results of the 2020 “Pandemic Fighting Star” public-service awards—sponsored by Pharmaceutical Observer—were recently announced. Following careful evaluation by the organizing committee and in conjunction with online voting results, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was named the “Pandemic Fighting Star” Most Socially Responsible Pharmaceutical Enterprise, while Abidor Hydrochloride Capsules were recognized as the “Pandemic Fighting Star” Gold-Brick Product.
In the face of the pandemic, no enterprise is an “isolated island”; rallying to support Wuhan and Hubei is by no means a hollow slogan. Since the outbreak, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical has steadfastly shouldered its social responsibility for epidemic prevention and control, surmounting every challenge and mobilizing all available resources to do everything possible to ensure the production of essential anti-epidemic medications such as Arbidol Hydrochloride Capsules and Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride Sodium Chloride Injection. Abidor hydrochloride capsules manufactured by Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. garnered significant attention during the pandemic and demonstrated positive clinical efficacy, leading to their inclusion in the National Medical Insurance Catalogue (2019 Edition), the National Health Commission’s “Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for Influenza (2019 Edition),” and the National COVID-19 Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol (Trial Versions 6 and 7).
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. dispatched a total of 26 vehicle trips to Hubei Province, delivering 3.962 million capsules of abidor hydrochloride, more than 30,000 units—totaling 500,000 bottles or bags—of emergency medicines such as moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection, levofloxacin lactate sodium chloride injection, and various basic intravenous solutions, as well as making donations of cash and materials worth over RMB 3 million to designated COVID-19 hospitals in Wuhan and the Shennongjia Forestry District. The company also provided 410,000 bottles or drums of disinfectant to Beijing and Tianjin. In fulfilling national allocation and provincial-level procurement and stockpiling tasks, the company received unanimous praise from the Medical Supplies Guarantee Group of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism under the State Council for Responding to the COVID-19 Epidemic, the Party Committee and government of the Shennongjia Forestry District, the Hubei Provincial COVID-19 Command Center, and relevant medical institutions.
