On August 4, the 2018 (35th) National Pharmaceutical Industry Information Conference, hosted by the China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center, opened in Shanghai. During the conference, the highly anticipated 2017 Top 100 Chinese Pharmaceutical Companies list was officially unveiled, with our company proudly ranked among the top 100. In addition, the company was honored as the “2018 Most Growth-Oriented Enterprise in China’s Pharmaceutical Industry.” Su Xuejun, General Manager of the company, and Han Shuqin, Deputy General Manager, took to the stage one after another to accept the plaques recognizing our company as both a “2017 Top 100 Chinese Pharmaceutical Company” and a “2018 Most Growth-Oriented Enterprise in China’s Pharmaceutical Industry.”
This year’s annual conference is themed “Innovation and Intelligence: Empowering a New Ecosystem.” Nearly 2,000 participants attended, including officials from the National Health Commission, the National Healthcare Security Administration, the National Medical Products Administration, and other relevant authorities; representatives from the industrial and information technology authorities of provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government; academicians and experts in the pharmaceutical industry; as well as representatives from industry associations and enterprises.
According to reports, the “Top 100 Chinese Pharmaceutical Companies” list, published by the China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, enjoys considerable credibility and authority within the industry. The companies featured on the list are among the most powerful in China and represent the highest level of development in the domestic pharmaceutical sector. The evaluation data are primarily drawn from the “China Pharmaceutical Statistics Annual Report,” the “China New Drug R&D and Testing Database,” and the “Comprehensive Drug Database.” The assessment is conducted at both the product and corporate levels: at the product level, key criteria include innovation, strategic positioning, growth, competitiveness, and market standing; at the corporate level, the criteria encompass distinctiveness, leadership, synergy, dependency, and scale. The release of the Top 100 list not only sets a benchmark for the development of China’s pharmaceutical industry but also provides an authoritative and objective lens through which to examine the current landscape, industrial structure, and development trends of the sector. Data analysis reveals that, as the overall scale of China’s pharmaceutical industry continues to expand, the entry threshold for the Top 100 has risen year by year; in 2017, the minimum threshold for inclusion was raised from RMB 2.4 billion in 2016 to RMB 2.56 billion in main business revenue.
During the conference, a forum titled “Leaders of the Top 100 Outstanding Enterprises Discuss Opportunities and Challenges in Industry Development” was also held. Su Xuejun, the company’s general manager, was invited to attend the forum, where he addressed the crises confronting pharmaceutical marketing, explored how pharmaceutical marketing can return to its core principles, examined how enterprises can manage the financial and tax risks associated with the “two-invoice system,” and shared innovative models and approaches adopted by his company in pharmaceutical marketing. He also put forward policy recommendations aimed at promoting the sustained and healthy development of the pharmaceutical industry.
