Recently, the Hebei Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology issued a notice on the 2022 Pilot Projects for Innovative Development of the Industrial Internet (Second Batch), under which the Intelligent Upgrade Project for High-End API Manufacturing at Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group was selected as a provincial pilot project for innovative development of the industrial internet.

According to available information, in order to implement the Provincial Government’s “Opinions on Promoting the Deep Integration of the Internet and Advanced Manufacturing and Accelerating the Development of the Industrial Internet,” the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, in accordance with the “2022 Hebei Province Key Project Application Guidelines for Innovative Development of the Industrial Internet” and the “Notice on Organizing the Application Process for the Second Batch of 2022 Pilot Projects for Innovative Development of the Industrial Internet,” has, after procedures including enterprise applications, review and recommendation by municipal bureaus, expert evaluation, on-site acceptance, deliberation by the provincial department, and public announcement online, designated a total of 50 projects as the second batch of 2022 pilot projects for innovative development of the industrial internet.

Over the past two years, Guangxiang Pharmaceutical has leveraged its expertise in specialty API production to continuously upgrade its key manufacturing equipment with automation and intelligent technologies. The company has acquired more than 1,000 units of energy-efficient, digital production equipment—including automated instrumentation, distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, monitoring systems, and auxiliary facilities—enabling seamless interconnection, unified management, and real-time control of numerous CNC-equipped machines, as well as continuous, real-time monitoring of production dynamics. As a result, both production capacity and efficiency have increased substantially. At the same time, the company has institutionalized its standardized safety-production system through an information-based management platform, achieving greater transparency in safety management and significantly elevating both manufacturing and safety-management capabilities, thereby providing strong impetus for advancing high-end API manufacturing toward a new level of intelligentization.
The head of Guangxiang Pharmaceutical stated that the next step will be to continuously refine an intensive, efficient, intelligent, green, safe, and reliable smart manufacturing system, with the aim of establishing Digital Guangxiang—a data-driven, intelligently integrated digital platform—as one of the model production bases for API manufacturing under China’s modernization drive.
