On March 23, the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the 2022 Green Manufacturing List, which included Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group. This marks the second green factory under the group’s umbrella to be recognized, following Shijiazhuang Sihua’s inclusion in the MIIT’s first batch of Green Manufacturing Demonstration Enterprises in 2017.

This marks the second green factory under the group’s umbrella to be recognized, following Shijiazhuang Sihua’s inclusion in the MIIT’s first batch of Green Manufacturing Demonstration Enterprises in 2017.
To implement the 14th Five-Year Plan for Green Industrial Development and the Implementation Plan for Peaking Carbon Emissions in the Industrial Sector, and to continuously improve the green manufacturing system, Guangxiang Pharmaceutical has consistently placed the development of a resource-conserving, environmentally friendly, modern pharmaceutical enterprise at the forefront of its corporate strategy. The company is actively building a science-and-technology-driven, eco-friendly, and resource-efficient green pharmaceutical system, while vigorously promoting the integration of informatization and industrialization and innovation-driven initiatives. Through these efforts, Guangxiang Pharmaceutical is accelerating transformation, upgrading, and structural adjustment, pursuing a circular economy model that is both resource-efficient and environmentally friendly. The company is committed to developing highly efficient, clean, low-carbon, and circular green factories, striving to become a leading exemplar of energy conservation and environmental protection in the industry. In 2021, Guangxiang Pharmaceutical was included on the provincial list of green manufacturers.
The Green Manufacturing List is determined through a series of procedures, including self-assessment by applicant organizations, evaluation by third-party institutions, review and confirmation by provincial-level departments of industry and information technology, expert appraisal, and public announcement. This time, a total of 40 enterprises in Hebei Province have been included on the Green Factory List, bringing the province’s cumulative total to 157 green factories and placing Hebei seventh nationwide in terms of the number of such facilities.
According to reports, in 2016 the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology launched the initiative to build a national green manufacturing system. Green factories are the production units of the manufacturing sector and serve as the primary implementers of green manufacturing. Fostering and establishing green factories is a core component of the green manufacturing system, aimed at guiding and supporting enterprises in transitioning toward intensive land use, clean production, waste resource utilization, and low-carbon energy consumption, thereby advancing the green and low-carbon development of the manufacturing industry. To date, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has publicly recognized more than 3,600 green factories across seven batches.
