On March 29, the highly anticipated eighth round of national centralized bulk procurement of pharmaceuticals was opened for bidding in Lingshui, Hainan Province. Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group participated in the bidding for five new products—aggrastat injection, ornidazole injection, metronidazole injection, felodipine II sustained- and controlled-release tablets, and mecobalamin injection—covering a total of seven specifications, and all of these products are slated to win the contract.

Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group participated in the bidding for five new products—aggrastat injection, ornidazole injection, metronidazole injection, felodipine II sustained- and controlled-release tablets, and mecobalamin injection—covering a total of seven specifications, and all of these products are slated to win the contract.
According to reports, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical’s bid for ornidazole injection (3 ml: 0.5 g; 6 mg: 1 g) secured first-place winning status thanks to its strong overall competitive advantages, entitling the company to exclusive supply in four provinces—Jiangsu, Hebei, Jiangxi, and Heilongjiang. Felodipine/Felodipine II sustained- and controlled-release tablets (5 mg) won second place, granting the company exclusive supply in five provinces and municipalities—Zhejiang, Yunnan, Chongqing, Shaanxi, and Tibet. Mecobalamin injection (1 ml: 0.5 mg) also secured second place, ensuring exclusive supply in six provinces—Zhejiang, Hunan, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, and Liaoning. Metronidazole injection (100 ml: 0.5 g; 250 ml: 1.25 g) placed third, with exclusive supply designated for three provinces—Guangxi, Hebei, and Fujian. Lastly, Argatroban injection (2 ml: 10 mg) came in fifth, securing exclusive supply in three provinces—Heilongjiang, Yunnan, and Hainan.

The company has accelerated its strategic positioning in key therapeutic areas such as antivirals, antibacterials, cough suppressants and expectorants, anticancer agents, neurological disorders, cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal conditions, and anesthesia, resulting in a steady accumulation of R&D breakthroughs that are now being translated into commercial success. Currently, the group has nearly 200 projects in development and more than 100 new products awaiting regulatory approval, establishing a new paradigm of product iteration characterized by “developing a batch, stockpiling a batch, and commercializing a batch.” In 2022, the company secured a total of 37 product approvals, with its R&D efficiency and number of submissions for specialty generics ranking among the top in the domestic industry. To date, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical has achieved bioequivalence for a cumulative total of 43 drug varieties across 55 dosage forms, thereby gaining a competitive edge and creating room for optimizing its product portfolio, securing access to national centralized procurement programs, and enhancing its market competitiveness.
A spokesperson for the group stated that winning this bid will enhance product market accessibility, accelerate the market penetration of new products, and facilitate scaled sales, thereby positively impacting market share, boosting regional sales, and strengthening market influence.
According to reports, the eighth round of national centralized drug procurement attracted bids for 366 products from 251 companies. A total of 252 products from 174 companies were shortlisted as winning bids, representing a selection rate of approximately 70% among participating firms. On average, 6.5 companies were selected for each product category, further enhancing supply diversity and stability. The National Healthcare Security Administration will work with relevant departments to guide local authorities and winning bidders in effectively implementing the procurement results, ensuring that patients can access the price-reduced winning products starting July 2023.
