Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has been receiving one success after another in new-product development. On May 12, the group’s application for urapidil was approved by the National Medical Products Administration, officially registering it as an active pharmaceutical ingredient for use in marketed dosage forms. This marks the group’s eighth newly approved API this year.

On May 12, the group’s application for urapidil was approved by the National Medical Products Administration, officially registering it as an active pharmaceutical ingredient for use in marketed dosage forms. This marks the group’s eighth newly approved API this year.
According to available information, urapidil is a highly selective α-adrenergic receptor antagonist primarily used for the treatment of hypertension, particularly severe hypertensive emergencies.
Previously, on May 8, the group’s applications for two new active pharmaceutical ingredients—urapidil hydrochloride and tofacitinib citrate—were approved on the same day. To date this year, the group has secured approval for a total of 26 new products.
In recent years, Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has actively pursued a “API-plus-formulation” development strategy, with API R&D, production, and exports maintaining strong growth momentum and increasingly serving as a key pillar for the company’s innovative, green, and high-quality development.
