Recently, the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology issued the “Notice on the Announcement of the List of Newly Established Provincial Technology Innovation Centers for 2023,” under which the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Crystallization Technology Innovation Center of Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, was successfully approved as a newly established provincial-level technology innovation center for 2023.

According to available information, the Guolong Pharmaceutical API Crystallization Technology Innovation Center is a provincial-level research platform established in the field of API crystallization technology. It leverages the R&D and innovation strengths of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group and capitalizes on an integrated industry–university–research–application innovation mechanism. Guided by national strategies and market demands and grounded in actual production practices, the center conducts in-depth research on projects such as polymorph screening and evaluation, polymorph stability assessment, crystallization process optimization, and scale-up of crystallization processes. Through these efforts, the center continuously reduces uncertainties and risks in the manufacturing process, consistently refines and guides the design, development, optimization, and scale-up of API crystallization processes, and thereby supports the high-quality, innovative development of APIs both at the enterprise level and across the province.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, Guolong Pharmaceutical has, over the past two years, been driven by innovation and actively pursued a “API-plus-formulation” development strategy. This has led to continuous optimization of its product mix, while extensive upgrades in production automation and intelligent manufacturing have significantly enhanced process capabilities and product quality. As a result, Guolong Pharmaceutical has become an affiliated supplier to numerous well-known domestic formulation manufacturers and has been recognized as an A-level R&D institution among provincial industrial enterprises and as a model “specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative” enterprise at the provincial level.
According to available information, the Hebei Provincial Technology Innovation Center is one of the province’s key science and technology R&D platforms. It is established with the support of large-scale enterprises, higher education institutions, and research institutes across the province, and serves as a technology innovation base that conducts research and development of common and critical technologies, technology integration, transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, technical services, and technological innovation. The center is open to the broader community and plays a strategic role in promoting technology diffusion and the transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological成果, attracting high-level technical talent, cultivating specialized technical professionals, enhancing enterprise innovation capacity, and improving the quality of innovation-related services.
