On May 26, when the reporter visited the construction site of the High-end Formulation Industrial Park project of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical in the High-tech Zone, towering cranes and a dense web of scaffolding dominated the scene, punctuated by the rhythmic rumble of concrete mixers, conveyors, and cutting machines. More than 300 construction workers toiled under the blazing sun, pressing ahead with the work, creating a vibrant and bustling atmosphere. The company is now redoubling its efforts to accelerate project development and make a final sprint to achieve “more than half” of both targets for the year.

As a key provincial and municipal project, since the commencement of construction on the Sihua Pharmaceutical High-End Formulation Industrial Park, Sihua has established a dedicated project task force to implement visual management, align progress against detailed timelines, and concentrate all resources on overcoming critical challenges, with the goal of ensuring early completion and early realization of benefits. Zhao Yongzheng, the project’s chief commander and Sihua’s Executive President, stated: “Thanks to the tireless efforts of the construction team, the main structures of the two production workshops and the large-scale automated logistics warehouse in Phase I are scheduled for complete roof capping by the end of May, laying a solid foundation for achieving the ‘more than half’ target for project investment. Soon, a new pharmaceutical facility characterized by high-end sophistication, intelligent operation, and green practices will be unveiled to the world.”

Meanwhile, the reporter learned that Sihua Pharmaceutical’s project to build a new production line for dual-chamber bag infusions and hormonal products—boasting strong technological advantages and market competitiveness—is being vigorously advanced according to the established schedule, and the first phase of the under-construction demonstration project for integrated pharmaceutical development and innovation has already begun to take shape.

Infrastructure projects serve as the “ballast” that propels enterprises toward high-quality development. According to Zhao Yongzheng, such projects are crucial for accelerating the commercialization of innovative outcomes, enhancing competitiveness, and translating innovation advantages into market and developmental strengths. At present, Sihua Pharmaceutical is witnessing a surge in the R&D and innovation of new products, with a large number of breakthroughs poised for commercialization. This urgent need is driving the acceleration and tangible results of project construction, necessitating relentless momentum and a race against time.

At Sihua Pharmaceutical, it’s not just project construction that is being pushed forward with relentless urgency—product R&D is also accelerating at full speed. “Building on last year’s strong innovation performance, we have secured approval for 33 new products this year, bringing our total to 113 product specifications across 83 varieties that have either passed or are deemed to have passed the consistency evaluation. The number of approvals in the first half of the year is set to surpass last year’s figure across the board, enabling us to maintain our leading position nationwide,” said Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of Sihua Pharmaceutical’s R&D Center, expressing full confidence in achieving the “double-over-half” target.

With the support of various business-friendly policies, the construction of the Four Pharmaceutical Projects has accelerated, innovative achievements have steadily accumulated and begun to yield results, industrial layout has continued to optimize, and development potential has further increased.

In the newly built, state-of-the-art, vertically configured, smart digital workshop for soft-bag intravenous solutions at Siyao—completed and put into operation in just nine months—reporters observed seamless, streamlined operations across processes such as bottle manufacturing and drug solution filling, all coordinated by conveyor systems. Robotic arms moved effortlessly between production lines, executing every task with precision and efficiency. The workshop now adds more than 600 million bottles (or bags) of intravenous solutions annually. Since commissioning, the new vertical-bag IV production capacity has been rapidly brought online. In addition, numerous new products—including azithromycin dry suspension, epalrestat tablets, buxanerine tablets, and peritoneal dialysis solution—have also entered the market as sought-after items following the completion and start-up of their respective production lines, providing strong momentum to ensure that the company achieves “more than half” of its annual targets on both revenue and output fronts.

“With the long journey ahead and the wind at our backs, we must once again stride forward with unwavering resolve to shoulder this momentous responsibility.” Wu Hengyao, President of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Group, stated that the company will, in the next phase, place “hard work” first, prioritize “bold innovation,” and emphasize “pragmatism,” firmly anchoring itself to its goals while stepping up the pace and pressing ahead with determination. The group will make solid progress in market expansion, research and development, and project construction, summoning the fighting spirit of a decisive battle to ensure the successful achievement of the “double-half” target and striving to contribute No. 4 Pharmaceutical’s strength to the city’s goal of surpassing RMB 1 trillion in total economic output.
