She immediately picked up a pen and began scribbling on the laboratory’s glass wall.

She immediately picked up a pen and began scribbling on the laboratory’s glass wall.
Li Yuan, 35, is dedicated to leveraging AI technology to advance new-drug discovery. She notes that developing a new drug is not only extremely costly but also typically takes more than a decade. At Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, researchers are using AI-powered virtual screening in the drug-development process, enabling them to accomplish in just a few weeks what once took several years.
Today, the research team at Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group includes more than 500 young professionals like Li Yuan, with those under the age of 40 accounting for 85% of the workforce. When youthful energy converges with new-quality productivity, it sparks a torrent of innovative vitality. Last year, the group secured approval for 88 new products, representing a year-on-year increase of 130%.
