Xibaipo was the last rural command post from which the Chinese revolution was directed to achieve nationwide liberation; it was here that the Three Major Campaigns were planned and executed, where the “Two Musts” were conceived, and from where the historic march “to Beijing to take the exam” began—indeed, the founding of New China itself set out from Xibaipo. On August 2, a group of 17 students from Lanzhou University’s employment-awareness delegation visiting Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, accompanied by staff from the Group’s Party Committee and Human Resources Department, visited the revolutionary holy site of Xibaipo to revisit its red history, carry forward the Xibaipo Spirit, and draw strength to forge ahead.

It was here that the Three Major Campaigns were directed, the “Two Musts” were conceived, and the historic journey “to Beijing to take the exam” began—indeed, the founding of New China itself set out from Xibaipo. “The dream of walking lies beneath our feet; the best classroom is on the road.” On the verdant hills of Baipo, where pines and cypresses thrive in lush greenery, students from Lanzhou University visit the Xibaipo Memorial Hall and the former site of the CPC Central Committee in Xibaipo, listening to the moving stories of revolutionary pioneers, retracing the red footprints, and deeply appreciating the Xibaipo Spirit.
According to reports, this red-tour visit to Xibaipo is part of a carefully organized career-exploration program arranged by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group for students from Lanzhou University.
As a top-100 pharmaceutical enterprise, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has maintained a long-standing, friendly university–enterprise partnership with Lanzhou University, a key “Double First-Class” institution under the national initiative. On this occasion, an employment-awareness delegation comprising doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Lanzhou University traveled specifically to the Group for a week-long program of career exploration and professional practice activities.
To provide students with valuable career guidance and professional mentorship, the Group dispatched accompanying personnel to take them on immersive visits to the front lines of pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing. These visits enabled students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s development journey, industry standing, innovative achievements, and future plans, while allowing them to directly experience the dynamic momentum driving the pharmaceutical industry toward innovation and continuous advancement.
In terms of professional practice, the Group dispatched its technical core personnel along with Wu Huanhuan, an alumnus of Lanzhou University who works at the company. Drawing on their hands-on experience in production management, they briefed the students on pharmaceutical GMP, solid dosage forms, and related process flows, thereby deepening their intuitive understanding of theoretical knowledge. The students then visited the intelligent manufacturing workshop, where they observed the operational procedures and production processes of the sterile production line, as well as the practical achievements of the Innovation Studio. The dynamic production environment broadened their horizons and enriched their insights. In the intravenous infusion and aqueous injection workshops, the students listened, watched, and even participated in hands-on operations, gaining a profound appreciation for the sense of responsibility and artisan spirit that define pharmaceutical professionals. Building on the experience gained from establishing the Innovation Studio, Wang Chao, the director of the aqueous injection workshop, shared with the group his personal reflection: “In the pharmaceutical industry, attitude determines one’s level of achievement; attitude is more important than ability.”
In the realm of career guidance, Ding Lixiu, an alumnus of Lanzhou University and Deputy General Manager of the Group’s R&D Center, joined students in launching the “I’ll Share My Chemistry Story with You” interview series. Drawing on her own journey of perseverance, she engaged in candid discussions with students on topics such as major-specific career choices, career awareness, skill development, and study habits, sharing her insights into personal growth and offering invaluable advice that proved highly beneficial. She encouraged everyone to uphold the university’s motto—“Strive for Self-Improvement and Stand Out”—to approach every task with diligence and integrity, and to pursue their careers and realize their full potential through a scientific and pragmatic mindset.
“Reflection through research, gain through learning, inspiration through travel, and achievement through action”—this employment-awareness program organized by Lanzhou University at Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has received unanimous praise from both faculty and students. According to the group’s leadership, the participation of Lanzhou University students in this practical employment-awareness activity not only represents a concrete deepening of university–enterprise cooperation but also serves as a valuable initiative for the company to proactively explore collaborative talent-development models at a high level. Moving forward, the group will further refine its industry–university–research–education–teaching–application–collaboration-based talent-development mechanism, continuously strengthen all-round, multi-channel partnerships with universities, and provide robust talent support to accelerate and promote the enterprise’s innovative, high-quality development.
