The finals of the 2024 Hebei Provincial Workers’ Vocational Skills Competition—Injection Manufacturing Category, themed “Moving Forward with Innovation, Achieving Long-Term Success Through Technology,” concluded successfully on the morning of October 18. Outstanding contestants selected by Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Group showcased their exceptional skills in the competition and clinched both the team and individual titles, bringing great honor to their enterprise.

This province-wide injection-formulation skills competition is jointly organized by the Hebei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, the Hebei Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Hebei Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and the Hebei Provincial Department of Commerce, with the Shijiazhuang Municipal Federation of Trade Unions serving as the implementing body and the Hebei Pharmaceutical Society and Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group providing support. It is one of the 11 competition disciplines designated for the 2024 Hebei Provincial Workers’ Vocational Skills Competition and marks its inaugural edition. Following multiple rounds of selection, 36 outstanding contestants from six prefecture-level cities across the province have advanced to the finals.

This injection manufacturing skills competition consists of a theoretical examination and a practical hands-on assessment, primarily evaluating contestants’ fundamental theoretical knowledge, professional skills, and occupational ethics required for pharmaceutical production. Competitors are expected to demonstrate proficiency in tasks such as test solution preparation, operation of common analytical instruments, sample analysis, data processing, result interpretation, laboratory safety, and hygiene management, thereby fostering a spirit of craftsmanship and high professional standards. The competition serves not only as a comprehensive review of skill levels across the province’s injection manufacturing sector but also as an important platform for promoting technical exchange, enhancing the overall quality of the industry, and driving innovation and development in the sector.

“As a leading enterprise in China for the R&D, production, and export of injectable pharmaceuticals, since the launch of the provincial workers’ vocational skills competition, our group has attached great importance to the event, established a dedicated task force, and, in close alignment with the requirements of the provincial organizing committee, simultaneously advanced both the training and preparation of competing athletes and the logistical support for the competition, striving to achieve a win-win outcome in both competitive performance and service delivery,” said a spokesperson for the group. The group’s Manufacturing Center, Quality Management Center, R&D Center, Hanlin Bio, and other departments have worked in coordinated synergy and ensured seamless operational integration, thereby providing robust support for all aspects of competition preparation and execution, including athlete selection, training and coaching, and on-site event services.

Over the past two months, the Group’s competitors have been fully engaged in preparation, striving to demonstrate a solid professional foundation and the requisite skill level during the competition. At the competition venue—whether in the theoretical exam held at Hebei Vocational College of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technology or in the practical skills challenge conducted at the Testing Center of the Economic Development Zone Production Area within the Group’s Quality Management Center—the contestants have competed on the same stage, remaining calm and composed throughout.

Inside the practical examination venue, rows of neatly arranged test benches are lined with competition-grade reagents, analytical glassware, and precision instruments, while the contestants, dressed in uniform and maintaining focused expressions, await the starting signal. At the referee’s command, they instantly enter competitive mode—holding their breath, executing each step with practiced skill and meticulous precision, and demonstrating “speed, stability, and accuracy” to the fullest. Every aspect of their performance reflects the rigorous quality-control mindset and professional dedication of injection-product manufacturing personnel. The examination hall is impeccably organized, radiating the captivating allure of skilled competition.

Bai Xue, a formulation operator from the Group’s intravenous solution workshop, has been with the company for ten years. With a down-to-earth, meticulous, and relentlessly perfectionist work ethic, she has remained firmly rooted in frontline operations, accumulating extensive hands-on experience and becoming a key production member of her team. After being selected for the training squad, she put aside the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays to devote herself entirely to competition preparation. Her hard work paid off: drawing on her solid theoretical foundation and rich practical experience, she stood out in the competition and clinched first place. Following the contest, Bai Xue stated that truly making the ordinary extraordinary—by approaching every task with diligence and dedication—is the very essence of a pharmaceutical worker’s responsibility and mission: “to produce high-quality medicines for the people.” Moving forward, she will continue to hone her skills and uphold the spirit of craftsmanship in performing her duties to the best of her ability.

“I’ve worked in the injectable pharmaceutical manufacturing position for 15 years, and this is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to showcase my skills on a provincial-level platform—truly a rare honor. In this competition, I was able to perform at my true level,” said An Ye, a representative from the group. He expressed great satisfaction with securing second place, noting that competing alongside top performers from across the province has been an invaluable chance to learn and further enhance his professional skills.

On the morning of October 18, the Awards Ceremony for the Finals of the 2024 Hebei Provincial Workers’ Vocational Skills Competition—Injection Products Manufacturing Event—was held by the Final Organizing Committee. Attending the ceremony were Ai Junjie, Third-Level Researcher at the Labor and Economic Work Department of the Hebei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions; Zhang Baoshan, Vice Chairman of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Federation of Trade Unions; Shi Yuehua, Head of the Labor and Economic Work Department of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Federation of Trade Unions; Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group; Liu Meng, Secretary-General of the Hebei Provincial Pharmaceutical Society; and Guan Hu, recipient of the National May Day Labor Medal, who presented awards to the winning units and individuals.
