At 2:00 p.m. on November 1, raging flames blazed across the parade ground of the Eighth Fire Station in Gaocheng District, Shijiazhuang. At the sound of an urgent whistle from the firefighters, live-fire drills—including timed extinguishing and fire-hose coupling—officially commenced.
On the occasion of “119” Fire Safety Publicity Day, the company joined forces with the Eighth Fire Brigade to organize a fire drill themed “Understanding Fires and Mastering Escape Techniques.” The purpose of this drill is to further enhance all employees’ awareness and proficiency in fire safety skills, enable them to apply escape knowledge and methods in real-life situations, and strengthen their ability to prevent and respond to fires on their own. Nearly 200 employees took part in the hands-on exercise.
Su Xuejun, the company’s General Manager, attached great importance to this drill and instructed the Safety Department to make thorough arrangements and provide robust support in advance. Following the drill, he conducted a comprehensive review and evaluation, outlining three specific requirements: First, the company must conduct such activities annually to enhance employees’ fire safety awareness and improve their ability to respond effectively to incipient fires; second, “place risk control ahead of hazard identification”—in addition to identifying hazards, every employee must be able to recognize risks, understand the corresponding control measures, and adhere to the “four no-harm” principle, ensuring that safety is truly implemented at the frontline team level; and third, each employee should serve as a fire safety promoter, leveraging their own position to disseminate fire safety knowledge and skills, thereby fostering a strong safety culture.
