On February 26, 30 academicians and experts from Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei gathered in Shijiazhuang to launch the “2025 Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Expert Service to Grassroots Initiative.” The event matched 28 key assistance projects in Shijiazhuang and resulted in the signing of six letters of intent for cooperation in areas such as industrial transformation and upgrading and collaboration on critical technologies. Notably, a research-and-development partnership was announced between Professor Lei Xiaoguang’s team at Peking University and Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, drawing significant attention.

This event, themed “Academicians and Experts Visit Hebei: Collaborative Services for Shared Development,” was jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Tianjin Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Hebei Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and the People’s Government of Shijiazhuang City. It brought together 30 academicians and experts from Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei to present trends in biopharmaceuticals and next-generation information technology, highlight recent technological breakthroughs, and outline future research directions. The event also showcased cutting-edge industry projects and the latest research findings to participating enterprises, with the aim of fully leveraging the intellectual strengths of experts from the three regions, promoting regional talent sharing and industrial collaboration, and advancing coordinated development among Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei to a higher level. More than 50 corporate representatives from the biopharmaceutical and next-generation information technology sectors engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions with the academicians and experts from the three regions.

During the event, experts visited enterprises such as Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical, gaining in-depth insights into the current status and future plans of Shijiazhuang’s biopharmaceutical and related industries. They engaged in thorough discussions with these companies on critical technological breakthroughs, talent development, and industry–university–research collaboration, thereby facilitating the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, promoting industrial upgrading, and fostering the seamless integration of innovation, industrial, and talent chains across the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region, ultimately supporting high-quality economic and social development in the area.

“Our Peking University has several outstanding, cutting-edge research achievements that are ideally positioned for technology transfer and commercialization at Sihua Pharmaceutical, thereby supporting the company’s biopharmaceutical R&D efforts,” said Lei Xiaoguang. “Shijiazhuang has cultivated the biopharmaceutical industry for many years and is home to numerous high-quality enterprises like Sihua Pharmaceutical. We are keen to fully leverage Peking University’s pioneering research in biomedicine, align it with Shijiazhuang’s leading position in the biopharmaceutical sector, and, through close collaboration among industry, academia, and research institutions, ensure that innovative drugs are successfully developed and brought to market right here in Shijiazhuang.”

A responsible official from the Group’s R&D Center stated: “Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical is a traditional pharmaceutical company with significant strengths in both generic and innovative drug development. We are actively collaborating with Peking University, leveraging the university’s expertise in natural-product synthesis and complementing it with our own capabilities, which will further facilitate the advancement of our projects.”
