With the spring tide surging and all things bursting into vigorous growth, a spirit of hard work and relentless striving resonates throughout the Sinyao Pharmaceutical plant—whether in the R&D department or the production workshops.

“By the end of 2023, our city’s biopharmaceutical industry had ascended to a new milestone as a cluster exceeding RMB 100 billion in scale, and in 2024 it has achieved further breakthroughs. To keep pace with the industry’s development, enterprises must remain steadfast in their commitment to innovation and make proactive, strategic moves that set the tone for future growth,” said Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Board of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group. He added that Sihua has consistently aligned its efforts with national strategic priorities and market demands, placing particular emphasis on advancing new-style industrialization—the “key lever”—while using innovation-driven development as the guiding principle. By leveraging the innovation chain to enhance the value chain, the company is focusing on two critical pillars: product innovation and industrialization. Through these initiatives, Sihua continuously drives product iteration and upgrades, optimizes its product mix, cultivates new competitive advantages, and builds momentum for sustained growth.

Sihua Pharmaceutical has delivered outstanding R&D performance—so what is the secret to its innovation? The answer is simple: embrace innovative thinking and maintain a relentless, forward-moving pace in pursuing innovation. Sihua adheres to a “combination of generic and innovative development” strategy, focusing on integrated development across both active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms. By establishing innovation consortia, the company coordinates and advances the development of high-end, complex intravenous solutions, aqueous injections, and oral formulations, while leveraging the supporting role of foundational infrastructure projects to continuously push boundaries and explore new frontiers. This approach accelerates the R&D of novel microsphere, liposome, hormone, and lyophilized dosage forms, thereby strengthening the company’s resilience and vitality.

“Continuously elevating our innovation capabilities and accelerating the strategic planning and development of innovative drugs, improved new drugs, specialty high-end formulations, and novel active pharmaceutical ingredients are the top priorities for Sihua Pharmaceutical’s innovation-driven growth in 2025,” said Qu Jiguang. To date this year, Sihua has secured approval for 15 new products, surpassing last year’s performance. Leveraging its strengths in injectable formulation R&D, the company is vigorously advancing the development of more than 20 cutting-edge intravenous infusion products, including dual-chamber and triple-chamber bags. Once these new products enter commercial production, they will fill critical gaps in the domestic market or within the province.

Currently, Siyao has more than 200 new products in development, with high-end complex formulations, improved new drugs, and innovative drugs accounting for nearly 30% of the pipeline. The company’s product innovation portfolio is undergoing a remarkable transformation, shifting toward high-end injectable formulations and greater formulation diversity.
