On April 11, prior to the Tsinghua University Young Scientists’ Symposium on “Being Steadfast and Pragmatic, Pursuing Quality Through Innovation” held in Shijiazhuang, a delegation of young scientists from Tsinghua University visited Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group for an on-site inspection of the company’s technological innovation and industrial development. The group also engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge technologies in the biopharmaceutical field, the commercialization of research outcomes, and university–enterprise collaboration. Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, and Dai Junpeng, Deputy General Manager of the R&D Center, accompanied the delegation during the visit.

The group also engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge technologies in the biopharmaceutical field, the commercialization of research outcomes, and university–enterprise collaboration. Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, and Dai Junpeng, Deputy General Manager of the R&D Center, accompanied the delegation during the visit.
At the R&D Center of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, a team of young scientists gained an in-depth understanding of the company’s achievements in areas such as the development of high-end formulations, green pharmaceutical technologies, and innovative drug pipelines. They also visited the R&D laboratories to discuss topics including drug molecule design and the application of artificial intelligence in pharmaceutical R&D. Drawing on their expertise in life sciences, medicine, chemistry, and chemical engineering, scholars from Tsinghua University put forward constructive recommendations in response to the company’s technical needs and actively explored opportunities for collaboration on new drug development and the design of novel drug delivery systems.
“This initiative—bringing Tsinghua University’s Dushi Special Program scholars to industry leaders such as Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical—is a pivotal step in advancing the precise alignment of fundamental research with industrial needs,” said the scholars. They noted that Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical enjoys distinct strengths in the integrated development of specialty active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms, a domain that aligns closely with their own research in areas such as biologics and synthetic biology. The scholars expressed hope that through collaborative research and knowledge sharing, the company’s robust industrial foundation and Tsinghua’s pool of scientific talent can complement one another, thereby accelerating the translation of basic research into practical applications and fostering deep integration across the “discipline–innovation–industry” value chain.
According to reports, the Dushi Special Program is an independent research initiative established by Tsinghua University specifically to support young faculty members in fundamental disciplines. The 13 scholars participating in this inspection span such fields as life sciences and medicine, quantum computing, advanced chip materials, energy technologies, and chemical engineering.
This inspection represents another significant step in deepening the comprehensive cooperation between Shijiazhuang City and Tsinghua University and in implementing the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Coordinated Development Strategy. Since the two parties signed a strategic agreement in 2023, they have organized a series of seminars and exchange activities, during which Tsinghua faculty and students have provided on-site guidance and support to enterprises in Shijiazhuang, precisely aligning with the needs of industrial development and the technological demands of businesses. This has facilitated the successful translation of numerous research outcomes into practical applications, injecting strong momentum into the city’s efforts to advance scientific and technological innovation, upgrade industries, and cultivate talent.
“At present, Shijiazhuang is continuously developing the most favorable policy package, the strongest service chain, and the warmest ecosystem to create the optimal environment for young scientists to start businesses in the city,” said Su Xuejun. He added that the company is fully committed to advancing its innovation-driven strategy, accelerating the strategic positioning and R&D of innovative drugs, improved new drugs, and high-end active pharmaceutical ingredients. The company looks forward to deepening cooperation with Tsinghua University across multiple fields, leveraging the university’s research capabilities to overcome critical technological bottlenecks and thereby driving new breakthroughs in the company’s high-quality, innovation-led development.
