On May 21, Guangzhou—the “Sheep City”—basked in picturesque splendor as the 92nd China International API, Intermediates, Packaging and Equipment Exhibition (API China) opened with great fanfare at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. Nearly 4,000 leaders from pharmaceutical API, intermediate, and pharmaceutical excipient supply-chain companies, as well as industry associations, experts, and scholars, gathered in Guangzhou to jointly explore pathways for high-quality development of the pharmaceutical sector.

Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical, Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical, and Jiangsu Bosheng Medical Devices—all subsidiaries of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group—participated as a group, showcasing their APIs and pharmaceutical packaging materials. Leveraging the exhibition as a platform for promotion and exchange, the companies comprehensively highlighted their recent achievements in technological innovation and structural optimization, further deepened and broadened collaboration with both new and existing customers, and fostered mutually beneficial development.

At the exhibition, the Group’s custom-designed booth, rendered in a sophisticated blue-and-white color scheme, exuded an air of elegance and gravitas. A large illuminated display case showcased all 77 of the Group’s active pharmaceutical ingredients, providing a comprehensive overview and highlighting the innovative achievements the Group has made in API R&D in recent years. These include key APIs renowned for their high quality and strong market reputation, such as caffeine, azithromycin, metronidazole, tinidazole, nifedipine, theophylline, and aminophylline, as well as a wide array of specialty APIs, including epalrestat, betahistine mesylate, felodipine, argatroban, and various adrenaline-related products.

“Shisi Pharmaceutical’s outstanding performance in integrated development spanning both active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms has not only created opportunities for its own growth but also opened up greater scope for businesses along the value chain to expand their collaborative partnerships,” a long-standing client remarked with enthusiastic praise and encouragement during a conversation with a senior executive of the Group. On the morning of the first day of the exhibition, the Group’s booth was bustling with visitors, the negotiation area was packed from end to end, and the sales team was kept busy fielding inquiries and engaging in in-depth discussions on potential business collaborations, all aimed at fostering mutually beneficial outcomes and driving shared growth.

In recent years, the Group has been driven by innovation, aligned with national strategic development priorities, and actively promoted integrated “API–formulation” development. By strategically aligning the innovation chain with the industrial value chain, the Group has not only deepened R&D on high-end, complex generic drugs and innovative pharmaceutical formulations but also, in response to domestic and international market demands, vigorously advanced the development of specialty APIs and secured international certifications for these products, thereby effectively facilitating both domestic and international dual circulation. Among the Group’s pipeline of new products, the proportion dedicated to developing specialty APIs has continued to rise, while the expanding product portfolio has provided robust support for corporate growth. Since the beginning of this year, eight API candidates developed by the Group—benidipine hydrochloride, piribedil, nicardipine hydrochloride, nimodipine, felodipine, allopurinol, lornoxicam, and riluzole—have had their registration numbers reclassified as “A,” marking a new highlight in the Company’s innovative development.

As a leading provider of products and solutions in the pharmaceutical packaging materials industry, Bosheng Medical Devices Group showcased a comprehensive portfolio at the exhibition. “We highlighted nine major product lines comprising hundreds of specifications, including infusion sets, antibiotic packaging, lyophilization systems, coated and laminated films, gaskets, pen-type injectors, pre-filled syringe plungers, and clean-free rubber stoppers, as well as co-extruded multilayer films—ranging from single-layer to five- and seven-layer structures—and color UV-printed films,” said a representative from Bosheng Medical Devices. The company emphasized its commitment to continuously optimizing its product mix, enhancing product quality, and refining differentiated services to meet the increasingly diversified needs of the pharmaceutical market, thereby strengthening and expanding its capabilities and expertise in supporting innovation and development within the biopharmaceutical industry.

According to reports, this exhibition brings together nearly 4,000 exhibitors from the pharmaceutical and health-nutrition industries at home and abroad, as well as more than 500 industry experts and renowned scholars in these fields. The event is expected to attract 150,000 visitors, with exhibits spanning over 100 product categories and tens of thousands of individual items, including active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical excipients, natural products, pharmaceutical packaging, pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, finished dosage forms, medical consumables, health and nutrition supplements, specialized medical foods, and traditional tonics. The exhibition will help continuously optimize the industrial and brand value chains in the pharmaceutical and health sectors, thereby unleashing new momentum for high-quality development.
