This marks another groundbreaking initiative by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group in the field of collaborative problem-solving between universities and enterprises, and serves as a valuable practice for deepening collaborative innovation among academia, local authorities, and industry.

This collaboration leverages the research expertise of the Innovation Research Institute of Hebei University of Technology (Shijiazhuang) and draws on Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical’s industrialization experience to focus on overcoming technical challenges in the development and large-scale production of stable-isotope-labeled drugs. The center will establish a industry–university–research–application platform spanning “basic research–pilot-scale scale-up–production translation,” thereby accelerating the commercialization of laboratory-generated innovations.
According to available information, stable isotopes, compared with conventional radioactive isotopes, exhibit highly efficient thermal neutron absorption and excellent moderation properties, while also offering high sensitivity and low safety risks. These characteristics enable them to effectively enhance the reaction efficiency between neutrons and target nuclei, thereby significantly improving the therapeutic precision of targeted drugs in treating cancers and other diseases.
The Innovation Research Institute of Hebei University of Technology (Shijiazhuang) was established through collaboration between Hebei University of Technology and the Shijiazhuang Municipal Government, with the aim of integrating university research resources with the local industrial base, building a platform for industry–university–research collaborative innovation, and strengthening the alignment between technological R&D and industrial needs. In recent years, by continuously expanding its industry–university–research cooperation network, the institute has jointly established technology-transfer platforms with several key enterprises in our city, thereby putting in place a collaborative mechanism characterized by “university R&D—enterprise implementation—regional adoption.” This approach has consistently injected new momentum into the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements across the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region.
A relevant official from the Innovation Research Institute of Hebei University of Technology (Shijiazhuang) stated that the center will fill the gap in the industrialization of stable-isotope-based pharmaceuticals in Hebei Province, thereby serving as a “technological engine” to accelerate the high-quality development of Hebei’s biopharmaceutical industry.
“This collaboration represents an innovative step taken by Hebei University of Technology to deepen its synergy among academia, local authorities, and enterprises. The two parties will focus on leveraging technological innovation outcomes to accelerate the attraction of upstream and downstream partners across the industrial chain, thereby fostering a cluster effect of innovation and facilitating the flow of innovative results and resources into regional industries,” said a representative from the R&D Center of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group.
