As local authorities have activated the highest-level response mechanism for major public health emergencies, pharmaceutical companies nationwide have stepped up to join the fight against the epidemic during the Spring Festival holiday. Many employees have even given up their vacations to rush to the front lines of prevention and control. “We must uphold our original aspiration and mission. As communicators for a pharmaceutical enterprise, we must maintain a high political stance, ensure that our efforts support rather than hinder the response, and promptly demonstrate the company’s sense of responsibility and commitment to society. Together, we will rise to this challenge and do our part to secure victory in the tough battle against novel coronavirus–associated pneumonia,” said Shi Jianhui, Secretary of the Party Committee, addressing all editors of the publication “Four Pharmaceutical People.”

At present, the critical battle against the novel coronavirus has been fully launched, leading to a sharp surge in demand for antiviral and antibacterial drugs on the front lines of prevention and control. In response, our company has urgently activated its emergency response mechanism to ensure full supply, while employees have eagerly volunteered to “join the fight,” demonstrating a profound sense of social responsibility that is truly moving.

“At critical junctures, we must not only prioritize the health of our employees and educate them to strengthen personal protective measures, thereby demonstrating our commitment to humanistic values, but also promptly communicate the corporate social responsibility that our company embodies in times of crisis, fostering a shared conviction among all staff that we will overcome these challenges and emerge victorious, and highlighting the sense of responsibility and accountability of a pharmaceutical enterprise.”

Over the past few days, the entire editorial team of “Four Pharmaceutical People” has gone deep into the production front lines to gather first-hand information and carefully plan topics for public education on prevention and control as well as for on-the-ground publicity. They have leveraged the Shisiyao Employee e-Home WeChat official account to disseminate government and medical institution guidelines on prevention and control to all employees, thereby actively supporting the company’s epidemic prevention and control efforts. At the same time, they have shared news of support being sent to the front lines of the fight against the epidemic with employees and mainstream media, boosting morale across the board.

To ensure effective publicity during this special period, every member of the “Four Pharmaceutical People” team—from the editor-in-chief to ordinary editors—has voluntarily put aside their rest and devoted themselves to their work. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Huang Xiaofeng, Manager of the Party and Mass Work Department and head of “Four Pharmaceutical People,” received an assignment to report on the situation. Rather than reuniting with his family, he immediately rushed to the company’s shipping site to gather first-hand information, conduct interviews and take photographs, and worked nonstop until 6 p.m. Editors Wu Yuqing and Lü Wencong promptly edited and published science-based articles on prevention and control, while also continuously reviewing and submitting frontline reports for approval and coordinating with news outlets for publication. Over the past few days, the “Four Pharmaceutical People” editorial team has swiftly produced a number of key articles, including “Shi Si Yao: Working Overtime to Boost Production and Contribute to Epidemic Prevention and Control” and “Shi Si Yao: On the First Day of the Lunar New Year, 100,000 Bags of Antibacterial Intravenous Solutions Rushed to Hubei,” which have garnered attention from numerous Party-affiliated media outlets and well-known integrated media platforms.

From the 29th day of the 12th lunar month to the first day of the first lunar month—just three short days—Shisiyao promptly distributed numerous science-based articles on prevention and control to its employees, thereby enhancing their awareness of protective measures. At the same time, the company sent more than ten news releases (complete with photos) to mainstream Party-affiliated media outlets such as Hebei Daily, Hebei News Network, Great Wall Net, and Shijiazhuang Daily, highlighting its round-the-clock production efforts and its dispatch of supplies to frontline epidemic-control units. These reports were subsequently reprinted and widely followed by platforms including People’s Daily Online, Xinhuanet, Toutiao, Sina News, Great Wall 24 Hours, the Jiyun client, the Great Wall Net client, the official WeChat account of the Pharmaceutical Economic Daily, the official WeChat account of the China Association for Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry, and the official WeChat account of the Hebei Provincial Pharmaceutical Industry Association. Notably, a message posted by Shisiyao’s employee e-home platform titled “Shisiyao: On Lunar New Year’s Day, 100,000 Bags of Antibacterial Intravenous Solutions Rushed to Hubei” garnered 19,000 views in just over one day. Pan Guangcheng, Executive President of the China Association for Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry, praised, “Well done, Shisiyao team!” Meanwhile, Lei Ying, Vice President and Secretary-General of the association, also commended the effort in a WeChat message, stating: “What a sense of responsibility among pharmaceutical professionals—kudos to the Shisiyao team!”
