At a little after 3 p.m. on January 27, the third day of the first lunar month, three large container trucks were busily loading goods in front of the finished-product warehouse of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., located in the Shijiazhuang High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

“This is the second shipment of pharmaceuticals bound for Hubei; today, three trucks will deliver supplies to Wuhan. This batch includes 70,000 bags of moxifloxacin hydrochloride and sodium chloride injection, as well as 60,000 bags of basic intravenous fluids and sterile water,” said Li Ligong, Manager of the Storage and Transportation Department, who was on site overseeing the loading operations.

In recent days, Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical has repeatedly received requests for emergency drug supplies from hospitals and state-owned pharmaceutical trading companies in Wuhan, Hubei Province, and other regions. Upon learning of these requests, Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Board of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Group, immediately directed the company to dispatch moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection to the front lines of epidemic prevention and control in Wuhan for the emergency treatment of respiratory infections.

“The epidemic is an order; ensuring supply is our responsibility.” On January 25, the first day of the Lunar New Year, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical urgently dispatched more than 3,000 packages—totaling 100,000 bags—of moxifloxacin hydrochloride and sodium chloride injection to Wuhan and Enshi in Hubei Province.

“The delivery vehicles rushed overnight to Wuhan City and Enshi Prefecture and, as required, were promptly dispatched to the hospitals,” Li Ligong said. “Upon arrival at their destinations, the drivers assigned to the freight mission promptly provided us with updates.”

Warehouse staff remain at their posts, meticulously processing the outbound procedures for relief supplies.

“To meet the demands of epidemic prevention and control, on the one hand, we have developed contingency plans, accelerated production and stockpiling, and maintained close communication with the Health Commission and the Drug Administration to ensure timely reporting of inventory levels and the scientific allocation of supplies for clinical use and market distribution. On the other hand, employees in sales, warehousing and logistics, and supply chain management have remained on duty throughout the holiday period, standing by at all times so that, upon receiving any directive, they can immediately organize shipment and deliver medicines to the front lines of prevention and treatment as quickly as possible,” said Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical, who has been steadfastly on duty during the holiday.

“In the face of the epidemic, ensuring market supply is the sacred duty of pharmaceutical professionals. Now is the time to rise to the challenge—we must go all out and never fail to live up to our mission,” said Su Xuejun.
