“The whole year’s plan begins in spring.” On February 7, the 2026 R&D Innovation Goals Launch Conference of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group was held in the Research Center Auditorium. Leaders of the Group—Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, Meng Guo, Zhang Guozhen, Wang Chunfa, Tian Pengmei, and others—gathered together with all research personnel to further build consensus on innovation, clarify priority areas of focus, and inject strong technological momentum into the Group’s pursuit of high-quality development in the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The conference was chaired by Sun Lijie, Executive President of the Group and General Manager (Director) of the Research Center (Drug Research Institute).
During the meeting, heads of the Group’s R&D Center’s specialized departments, as well as representatives from Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Research Institute, Bosheng Pharmaceutical Research Institute, and Hanlin Biotechnology, delivered comprehensive reports on the implementation of research and innovation initiatives for 2025 and the key research objectives for 2026. Group leaders Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, Meng Guo, and others provided individual comments on each presentation.
In 2025, the Group’s extensive team of researchers prioritized practical action and pressed forward under increased pressure, driving a steady stream of innovative achievements. Throughout the year, a total of 93 new product approvals were obtained, including 69 dosage-form products and 24 active pharmaceutical ingredient products. To date, the cumulative number of products that have passed evaluation has reached 168, encompassing 220 product specifications, thereby establishing a product portfolio characterized by “linking individual components into a cohesive chain and aggregating strengths into clusters.” The product mix continues to evolve and upgrade, while the innovation ecosystem is accelerating its development.
The conference solemnly announced and commended two outstanding departmental representatives—the Quality Inspection Department of the Group’s R&D Center and the Second API Division—as well as 12 exemplary R&D professionals, including Wang Jie. The representatives of the advanced collectives and individuals confidently ascended the podium to receive cash awards and trophies from the group’s leadership, while the entire audience erupted in warm applause to offer their congratulations.
Amid warm applause, Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, delivered a concluding address entitled “Press On with Greater Determination, Strive to Scale New Heights, and Vigorously Usher in a New Era of R&D Innovation during the 15th Five-Year Plan Period.” He briefly reviewed the achievements made in R&D over the past year and outlined his expectations and requirements for comprehensively and solidly advancing R&D and innovation in the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period in 2026.
Qu Jiguang pointed out that 2026 marks the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan and represents a pivotal juncture for comprehensively advancing scientific and technological innovation, industrial upgrading, and corporate transformation—events of profound strategic significance for the Group’s pursuit of high-quality development. It is imperative to seize this historic opportunity presented by the 15th Five-Year Plan, using innovative drugs and the R&D of high-end, complex formulations as breakthroughs to accelerate the Group’s ascent toward the mid- to high-end segments of the industrial and value chains, thereby striving to take the initiative and secure a favorable future amid the profound ongoing and anticipated reshaping of the pharmaceutical landscape.
In line with the overarching requirement of making a strong start and achieving solid progress during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Qu Jiguang emphasized that in 2026 the Group’s R&D efforts should focus on four key areas. First, we must advance the strategic transformation of our R&D function by steadfastly and continuously deepening the “combination of generic and innovative drug development” approach and strengthening the synergistic advantages of integrated R&D across APIs, finished dosage forms, and pharmaceutical packaging materials. At the same time, we will closely align our work with unmet clinical needs, concentrating our best resources to significantly increase investment and intensify research efforts on innovative drugs, improved new drugs, specialty high-end APIs, and advanced complex formulations. Second, grounded in our own R&D realities, we will use institutional innovation as the breakthrough point. We will continually refine the collaborative innovation mechanism involving industry, academia, research institutions, and end-users; actively integrate external scientific research capabilities and capital resources; and accelerate the establishment of an intelligent R&D system through the “AI Plus” initiative, thereby driving a transformation in the research paradigm. In addition, we will establish special awards such as the “Innovation Pioneer Award” and the “Technological Breakthrough Award” to vigorously foster an innovation culture characterized by a willingness to take on challenges and strive for excellence. Third, we will strengthen talent support and build a world-class team by intensifying efforts to attract and cultivate high-caliber professionals, continuously optimizing the talent pipeline, and developing systematic mechanisms for nurturing and incentivizing innovative talent, thus sustainably stimulating the enterprise’s intrinsic drive for innovation. Fourth, we will continuously consolidate the foundation of research quality to provide robust assurance for the successful translation of innovative achievements into industrial applications.
The blueprint has been drawn, and now is the time to forge ahead. Researchers across the Group have unanimously pledged to stay committed to their respective roles, adopting a proactive and determined mindset of “treating the start as a decisive battle and the outset as a charge,” aligning their thinking and actions with the Group’s strategic plan for innovative development. They will remain steadfast in their confidence and resolve, boldly tackle the frontiers of science and technology, and scale the heights of innovation. With unwavering unity and a relentless drive for breakthroughs, they will strive to deliver more pioneering and game-changing results, thereby injecting powerful momentum into the Group’s high-quality development.
