On February 10, the National Organization for Centralized Drug Procurement announced the proposed winning results for the follow-up procurement of drugs whose original centralized procurement agreements have expired. Among the proposed winners announced this time, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has 45 drug varieties slated to win bids.

This round of follow-up procurement covers 316 commonly used drugs from the first eight rounds of national centralized drug procurement, spanning 26 therapeutic areas including anti-infectives, oncology, glycemic control, antihypertensives, lipid-lowering agents, and treatments for the nervous, respiratory, and digestive systems. It marks the first time that a unified follow-up process has been implemented nationwide for chemical pharmaceuticals under the centralized procurement framework. A total of 51,000 medical institutions across the country submitted quantity bids, with 4,623 products from 1,091 domestic and international companies participating in the bidding. Ultimately, 4,163 products from 1,020 companies were shortlisted as potential winners, resulting in an overall winning rate of 93%. On average, 14 companies were selected for each product category, leading to a diversified market supply landscape.

This round of renewal procurement is jointly led by the medical insurance bureaus of Jiangsu, Henan, and Guangdong provinces, with full participation from all provinces nationwide, thereby achieving standardized and unified procurement rules. Enterprises need only submit a single online bid; once selected, they can sell their products nationwide, significantly reducing bidding costs. This renewal procurement is characterized by high enterprise participation, strong alignment with clinical needs, higher quality standards, and clear expectation-driven outcomes.

According to reports, the results of this round of follow-up procurement are expected to be implemented by the end of March 2026, with a procurement period extending through the end of 2028. This extended procurement cycle will ensure continued benefits for patients, provide the industry with stable production and sales expectations, and further consolidate the achievements of the national centralized drug procurement program.
