As the festive season arrives, good news follows. On February 13, the propranolol hydrochloride API developed by Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, successfully had its registration status at the Center for Drug Evaluation of the National Medical Products Administration changed to “A,” signifying its approval for use in marketed dosage forms. This marks the third specialized API new product approved for the Group since the start of the year and the sixth new product overall achieved by the Group.
With the festive season upon us, good news has arrived. On February 13, the propranolol hydrochloride API developed by Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, successfully transitioned to “A” status in the registration dossier at the Center for Drug Evaluation of the National Medical Products Administration, thereby qualifying as an API intended for use in marketed dosage forms. This marks the third specialized API new product approved for the Group since the start of the year and the sixth new product overall achieved by the Group.
It is reported that propranolol hydrochloride is a nonselective β-adrenergic receptor blocker used as secondary prevention to reduce mortality from myocardial infarction; for the treatment of hypertension (either as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive agents); for exertional angina pectoris; and for the control of supraventricular tachyarrhythmias and ventricular arrhythmias, among other indications.
The Group continues to deepen its innovative “API + Formulation” strategy, and as of now it boasts 94 API products, 52 of which are manufactured by Guangxiang Pharmaceutical. The proportion of specialty APIs has been steadily increasing, with products spanning multiple therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, anti-infective, and central nervous system indications, thereby continuously injecting strong momentum into the Group’s high-quality development.
