On February 9, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group’s Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. received approval from the National Medical Products Administration for its development of dobutamine hydrochloride and phloroglucinol trimethyl ether, officially registering them as active pharmaceutical ingredients for use in marketed dosage forms. Since the beginning of this year, the Group has secured approval for a total of five new products.
According to available information, dobutamine hydrochloride is primarily used to enhance myocardial contractility in acute circulatory failure and for stress echocardiography. Phloroglucinol trimethyl ether (formerly known as trimethylphloroglucinol) is mainly used in the preparation of phloroglucinol injection, which is indicated for acute spastic pain caused by dysfunction of the digestive system and biliary tract; acute spasm-related urethral, bladder, and renal colic; and gynecological spastic pain.
In recent years, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has continuously deepened its integrated “API-plus-formulation” strategic layout. By strengthening R&D innovation and supply-chain collaboration, the Group has established a diversified product portfolio spanning both chemical APIs and finished dosage forms. Currently, the Group boasts 93 API products, with Guangxiang Pharmaceutical accounting for 51 of them. The proportion of specialty APIs is steadily increasing, covering multiple therapeutic areas such as cardiovascular, anti-infective, and central nervous system treatments, thereby continuously injecting strong momentum into the Group’s high-quality development.
