“Today is the first day back to work after the holiday, so we can’t afford to fall behind—we need to get ready to start up the production lines as quickly as possible.” On the morning of February 22, the sixth day of the first lunar month, Zhang Ziyuan and his colleagues from Workshop 103 at the First Manufacturing Center of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group strode into the factory premises in Shijiazhuang High-tech Industrial Development Zone to the rousing sounds of gongs and drums, kicking off their first day of work in the Year of the Horse.
“Today is the first day back to work after the holiday, so we can’t afford to fall behind—we need to get ready to start up the production lines as quickly as possible.” On the morning of February 22, the sixth day of the first lunar month, Zhang Ziyuan and his colleagues from Workshop 103 of the First Manufacturing Center at Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group strode into the Shijiazhuang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, accompanied by the rousing sounds of gongs and drums, to begin their first day of work in the Year of the Horse.
Diligence brings spring early; with vigorous strides, we race toward autumn’s bountiful harvest. Even as the rich festive spirit of the New Year lingers, the production areas of all four pharmaceutical plants are already bustling with activity. Employees have swiftly shifted from “holiday mode” to “production mode,” approaching the first quarter with unwavering enthusiasm and full momentum to deliver a strong start and achieve a stellar opening performance.
In the infusion workshop of the High-tech Zone production area at Siyao Pharmaceutical, the scene that immediately catches the eye is one of bright, bustling lights and orderly efficiency: employees in cleanroom attire skillfully perform their tasks at their respective stations, while fully automated infusion production lines operate at full speed. At the bottle-making station, robotic arms move deftly and precisely to pick up products, neatly stack them on conveyor belts, and swiftly transfer them to the next processing step—every corner of the facility exudes a vibrant yet well-organized production atmosphere.
“To ensure post-holiday market supply, our production system formulated a meticulous production schedule well in advance of the holiday,” said Jiang Deguang, Deputy General Manager of the First Manufacturing Center at Siyao, as he inspected the resumption of operations on the shop floor. “On the sixth day of the first lunar month, all employees officially returned to work, and the center’s oral dosage-form and intravenous infusion production lines were fully commissioned to guarantee timely delivery of tender-winning products.”
The momentum to sprint right from the start of the year stems from a robust order backlog. Over the past year, Siyao has delivered outstanding performance in national and regional centralized drug procurement initiatives, injecting strong impetus into the company’s growth for the new year.
According to available information, in the 11th round of national centralized bulk procurement of pharmaceuticals, Sihua Pharmaceutical secured winning bids for a total of 12 drug varieties across 14 dosage forms. Furthermore, in the follow-up procurement initiative led by Guangdong and involving 22 provinces, Sihua Pharmaceutical leveraged its superior product quality, strong brand reputation, and economies of scale to win contracts for an impressive 135 dosage forms, covering multiple therapeutic areas such as anti-infectives and cardiovascular medications, thereby significantly enhancing the market accessibility of its products.
In particular, during the recent successive procurement rounds for drugs included in the first through eighth batches of national centralized procurement, Sihua Pharmaceutical has once again submitted bids for 45 product varieties, further consolidating and expanding the company’s market share in the infusion and oral dosage-form segments.
Faced with a substantial surge in market demand following centralized procurement, ensuring supply has become the top priority. To prepare for potential post-holiday peaks in drug usage at medical institutions, Sihua Pharmaceutical proactively initiated its supply-assurance plan well before the Spring Festival.
“The drugs selected through centralized procurement serve as the ‘ballast’ for essential medicines, and ensuring their quality and adequate supply is both an obligation and a responsibility,” said Wang Chunfa, Executive President in charge of production at Sihua Pharmaceutical. To address post-holiday market supply needs, the company has implemented precise, end-to-end planning across the entire value chain—ranging from raw-material procurement and production-line scheduling to quality inspection and logistics dispatch. Leveraging information systems such as ERP and MES, the company has adopted precision production scheduling and established strategic collaboration with upstream suppliers well in advance, thereby securing sufficient reserves of active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients and fully preparing for a post-holiday “production acceleration.”
“The whole year’s plan begins in spring; securing strong performance in the first quarter is crucial for achieving success throughout the year.” Gazing at the bustling production scene before him, Wu Hengyao, President of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, expressed full confidence in the company’s prospects for the new year.
“The start is the decisive battle, and the beginning is the sprint.” Wu Hengyao stated, “2026 marks the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan and is also a pivotal year for our transformation and upgrading. Although industry competition remains intense, by actively participating in national and local centralized procurement initiatives, we have not only stabilized our core business but also unlocked new growth drivers. In the face of next year’s goals and tasks, Siyao will uphold even higher standards in end-to-end quality control, respond more swiftly to meet market demands, and fully leverage our role as a leading, backbone pharmaceutical enterprise to set an example and drive industry-wide progress. We will make every effort to achieve a strong start in the first quarter, laying a solid foundation for attaining our annual targets while injecting robust momentum and contributing greater strength to the high-quality development of Shijiazhuang’s biopharmaceutical industry.”
