Dr. Sun Lijie, holder of the Shijiazhuang Talent Green Card Type A, a provincial-level expert, and Director of the Pharmaceutical Research Institute of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., stated that since the outbreak of the pandemic, the institute has swiftly adjusted and reprioritized its ongoing R&D projects, giving top priority to drug development initiatives directly related to the epidemic. In addition, the institute has accelerated the consistency evaluation and further research on antiviral agents and antibiotics such as moxifloxacin and linezolid—both of which are being developed to combat novel coronavirus pneumonia—and has promptly submitted the relevant applications to the Center for Drug Evaluation of the National Medical Products Administration.
Sun Lijie stated that abidor hydrochloride capsules are a broad-spectrum antiviral drug that Shisi Pharmaceutical was among the first in China to develop. Currently, Shijiazhuang Four Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.’s abidor hydrochloride capsules have been included in the epidemic-prevention product reserve lists or green channels for antiviral drugs in 23 provinces. Furthermore, abidor was first added to China’s National Medical Insurance Catalog in 2019 and was also listed as an antiviral influenza medication recommended for clinical use by the National Health Commission of China. During the Spring Festival, the Hebei Provincial Drug Administration swiftly approved the concurrent filing of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group’s self-produced abidor hydrochloride API and abidor hydrochloride capsules, thereby ensuring the supply of clinical antiviral medications.
On this basis, Sun Lijie has also led his team in continuously developing a series of novel antiviral drugs and has already initiated projects to research new therapeutics targeting the novel coronavirus.

During the Spring Festival holiday, Sun Lijie and all core R&D personnel reported for duty, diligently performing their duties while strictly adhering to personal protective measures. They worked more than ten hours a day, racing against the clock to stay ahead of the virus.
“As a drug-development team, we have an inescapable responsibility to leverage our expertise in the fight against the virus. At the same time, as researchers, we have a solid understanding of the novel coronavirus. We urge everyone not to succumb to excessive panic and to place their trust in the nationwide united effort to ultimately prevail in this critical battle against the epidemic,” said Sun Lijie.
