Immediately conducting surveys to ascertain employees’ travel histories and health statuses, promptly launching a dedicated epidemic-prevention knowledge section on the company’s internal communication platform, and carrying out daily ventilation and disinfection of office spaces, cafeterias, dormitories, and other facilities—these measures have ensured employee safety and maintained normal production and business operations. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has simultaneously prioritized both epidemic control and production operations, rigorously implementing responsibilities at every level to guarantee effective containment efforts and stable production performance.

Song Mingxia, Chairperson of the Trade Union at Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical, now makes it her first task each day to conduct rounds throughout the production workshops and administrative departments, where she assesses employees’ health, disseminates knowledge on epidemic prevention and control, provides psychological counseling, explains the company’s various work arrangements during the pandemic response, and guides staff in prioritizing personal preventive measures while fully committing to the production of emergency medicines on the front lines of the fight against the epidemic.

In response to the epidemic, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical promptly formulated an emergency plan for “preventing imported cases and containing internal transmission,” rigorously implemented a daily reporting system, conducted thorough screening and preventive measures, strengthened on-duty emergency preparedness, and continuously refined its epidemic prevention and control protocols, risk mitigation strategies, and emergency response procedures to ensure that all enterprise-level prevention and control measures are fully in place. At the same time, members of the leadership team gave up their holidays and remained on duty around the clock, routinely carrying out employee education on epidemic prevention, environmental disinfection, public awareness campaigns, and stockpiling of essential supplies.

Song Mingxia explained, “We have posted educational posters and leveraged the Shisiyao Employees’ e-Home WeChat official account to deliver daily updates on COVID-19 prevention and control knowledge to our more than 4,600 employees, reminding and educating each staff member to practice proper personal protective measures. At the same time, we have implemented closed-loop management, conducting daily health declarations and screenings for all employees. Temperature checks are mandatory for anyone entering or leaving the factory premises and workshops, with individual screening and registration for each person. In addition, public areas throughout the facility are disinfected on a scheduled basis, and employees dine in staggered shifts to avoid crowding. All staff from the Property Management Department and the Security Department are on duty around the clock, rigorously performing temperature screenings and disinfection sprays on every individual and vehicle at checkpoints for entry and exit to the factory, the canteen, and the employee dormitories. By establishing multiple layers of preventive barriers, we have created a ‘safety island’ that allows our employees to focus on production with peace of mind.”

While making all-out efforts to prevent and control the epidemic, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical has steadfastly pursued high-quality development, closely monitored market dynamics, and formulated and implemented business plans and measures tailored to the pandemic response period.
