With the rampant spread of COVID-19, the entire community is rallying to stem the tide. Over the past few days, from the “sentinels” at the gates of employee dormitories and the “sprayers” patrolling office areas and staff quarters, to the “aunties” providing logistical support in observation and isolation rooms—20 dedicated and tirelessly busy staff members from the Property Management Department of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical have woven a series of robust safety barriers to ensure that employees can work and live with peace of mind amid the epidemic.

Temperature screening: safeguarding the first line of defense.

At 7:00 a.m., as the number of people entering and exiting the employee dormitories gradually increased, the security staff of the Property Management Department at Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. also began another busy day on the job.

Zhai Yafeng, on the early shift, arrived at his post well ahead of time to conduct temperature checks and registration for every person entering the dormitory. “The staff apartments are relatively enclosed, so strict control over who enters is crucial; even a slight lapse could lead to extremely serious cross-infection,” Zhai Yafeng said. To safeguard the health and safety of residents, the property management department has arranged two shifts around the clock, conducting mandatory checks on everyone who enters or leaves at all times. Any suspected cases must be promptly identified and reported without exception.

“Over the course of a single day, we have to raise our infrared thermometers more than 2,000 times—sometimes we’re so busy we don’t even have time to take a sip of water.” This Spring Festival holiday, he and his colleagues put aside the chance to reunite with their families and have remained steadfast at this “frontline post” since New Year’s Eve. “As long as we can ensure the health and safety of our employees, a little bit of hard work is nothing,” said Zhai Yafeng.

Strict disinfection to ensure a pollution-free office and living environment.

During this special period of epidemic prevention and control, in addition to carrying out routine property management duties such as security and cleaning on a daily basis, the Property Management Department has also taken on the critical task of disinfecting office areas and dormitory environments, resulting in a workload that has more than doubled.

Every day at 3 p.m., you can always spot figures in protective suits, masks, and backpack sprayers going about disinfecting every corner of Shimen Building. Wang Yuwei is one of them. Together with his colleagues, Wang Yuwei ensures that every nook and cranny of the more than 10,000-square-meter administrative office area and staff dormitories is thoroughly disinfected on schedule each day.

Carrying a sprayer weighing more than 20 jin, he disinfects each floor one by one, coordinating his hands and legs in a relentless rhythm. After only a short while, he’s drenched in sweat, his clothes soaked through with disinfectant. His colleagues jokingly call him a “walking disinfectant,” to which he replies with a smile: “As long as I can help keep everyone safe, I’m happy to be that disinfectant.”

Logistical Support Ensures Smooth Operations; Heartfelt Service Warms the Heart

To effectively safeguard the lives and health of all employees, the Property Management Department of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. provides heartfelt care and support to employees with special circumstances, ensuring they receive rigorous isolation and observation in accordance with requirements while also experiencing warmth and compassion.

To ensure the well-being of employees who are temporarily under quarantine, the Property Management Department has established a detailed “Daily Schedule for Quarantined Residents,” meticulously outlining specific times for meal delivery, temperature checks, hot-water service, garbage disposal, and room disinfection. In addition, the on-site dormitory supervisors—affectionately known as “Aunties”—have maintained a positive and optimistic attitude to help stabilize everyone’s emotions, offering moral support and comfort.

At 8:00 a.m. on February 10, Ren Gaoyang was taking the temperatures of employees under quarantine when he suddenly received an urgent call from his family informing him that his mother was feeling unwell. He immediately rushed home, dialed 120 to arrange for her transport to the hospital, and after ensuring she was safely admitted and handed over to family members for care, promptly returned to work. “During this special period of epidemic prevention and control, we need every capable person,” Ren Gaoyang said. “As a veteran and a Party member, I simply cannot step back at a critical moment.”
