Huanghua Port Customs has been nothing short of outstanding!” On February 18, Wang Hongyong, Sales Manager at Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group, who had been anxiously awaiting pickup at Huanghua Port Customs, finally wore a smile and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the head of Huanghua Port Customs.

It turned out that after Shisiyao Group Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., located in the Lingang Pharmaceutical Industrial Park of the Bohai New Area in Cangzhou, resumed operations on February 13, it immediately ramped up production capacity in an effort to make up for the output lost during the shutdown—only to find that its inventory of a key raw material used in caffeine production was critically low. “If we can’t secure the raw materials, we won’t be able to maintain continuous production, and for a newly established company like ours, that would mean substantial losses! What are we going to do?” Just at that moment, the batch of this imported raw material happened to arrive at the Huanghua Port terminal, giving Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Chairwoman Gao Shuping renewed confidence: “Hurry and contact Huanghua Port Customs—let’s ask for their assistance!”

Guangxiang Pharmaceutical’s request received high attention from the Huanghua Port Customs, which is under the jurisdiction of Shijiazhuang Customs, and the customs promptly assigned dedicated personnel to liaise directly with the company. Upon learning that the raw material in question is a hazardous chemical, Huanghua Port Customs immediately formulated an inspection and release plan to ensure the safe import of the shipment and arranged for experts in hazardous chemicals to proactively engage with the company. Leveraging the “Internet Plus Customs” initiative, the customs maintained active communication with the company via telephone and WeChat, conducting online reviews of the company’s qualifications and product safety data sheets, among other relevant information. At the same time, the customs informed the company of the import requirements and safety protection measures applicable to such hazardous goods, and, while ensuring proper personal protective equipment for customs officers, carried out on-site inspections in a safe and efficient manner to facilitate timely customs clearance and support the company’s resumption of production and operations.

On February 18, the Huanghua Port Customs completed inspection of this batch of imported pharmaceutical raw materials and promptly processed the customs clearance procedures. Manager Wang Hongyong stated: “This is our first-ever import of pharmaceutical raw materials. We are grateful for the Huanghua Port Customs’ meticulous guidance throughout the entire process, which ensured that these materials were put into production in a timely manner.”

According to available information, Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical is a subsidiary of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group and a large-scale pharmaceutical enterprise invested in and constructed by the Group in the Bohai New Area of Cangzhou. The company primarily manufactures specialty active pharmaceutical ingredients, including caffeine, theophylline, aminophylline, azithromycin, metronidazole, benzamidazole metronidazole, nifedipine, and nicotinic acid zaniteno.
