On March 25, at the finished-product warehouse of the logistics center of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in the Shijiazhuang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, forklifts were shuttling back and forth as they hurried to load more than a dozen large transport trucks lined up in a single file. Li Ligong, manager of the company’s Storage and Transportation Department, who was on site directing operations, said: “These days, our shipment volume has been rising day by day, just like the current temperature—daily outbound shipments of intravenous solutions have now exceeded 4 million bottles, nearly matching pre-pandemic levels.”

As a major domestic hub for the production, R&D, and export of injectable pharmaceuticals, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical has, since the onset of the pandemic, not only ensured the steady supply of key reserve medications for epidemic prevention and control but also overcome numerous challenges—including a sluggish end-market—by taking proactive measures. With more than 400 sales representatives “on the job” and leveraging cloud-based services to precisely connect with both domestic and international markets, the company has maintained uninterrupted 24-hour sales support.
“We have focused our marketing efforts on our flagship products, ensuring they remain front and center. During the pandemic, we never slackened in promoting and selling our core infusion formulation, doing everything possible to serve and invigorate the market and boost sales. As public understanding of COVID-19 has deepened, end-users have placed increasing emphasis on preventing secondary contamination during drug administration. Soft-bag infusions and upright soft-bag infusions offer excellent air-barrier properties, so we stepped up our sales and promotional efforts for these products, which have been well received by the market. Currently, our production lines for soft-bag and upright soft-bag infusions are operating at full capacity, with output and sales back to pre-pandemic levels,” said Wu Hengyao, General Manager of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical. “This year, we are sticking to our target for growth in injectable sales—and we aim to achieve even faster progress.”
“We capitalize on prevailing trends and prioritize seasonally appropriate products. By leveraging big data to capture real-time market dynamics, we have seized the opportunity presented by the growing demand for antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and chronic-disease–treatment medications. To this end, we have mobilized our most capable personnel to ramp up production, strategically aligned sales with market needs, and enhanced the precision of our supply chain, thereby maximizing resource efficiency. Since February, sales of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection have surged by 404% year over year, azithromycin dispersible tablets have increased by 40%, and traditional Chinese medicine formulations such as heat-clearing and detoxifying oral liquids, Shengmai Yin, Yiqing Granules, and Yinhuang Capsules have also experienced rapid growth,” said Wu Hengyao. He added that, as hospital outpatient and inpatient volumes gradually rebound, drug consumption will continue to rise, spurring a comprehensive expansion of pharmaceutical manufacturers’ production capacity. Meanwhile, market demand is steadily diversifying—from a heavy reliance on antiviral and antibacterial agents as well as medications for chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes—toward a more balanced, “generalist” portfolio of pharmaceuticals.
“We must make the most of the spring season by working diligently and seizing every moment to boost foreign trade.” At present, Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical is maintaining steady export sales without any slowdown, all while ensuring the uninterrupted production and supply of both emergency pandemic medicines and routine pharmaceuticals.

Stepping into Workshop 203 at Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical, one is greeted by the cheerful hum of motors as infusion products race along the production line, poised to be shipped to distant foreign markets. Li Bo, Manager of the company’s Foreign Trade Department, explained: “These products will soon be exported by sea to Southeast Asian countries.”
At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is spreading globally, timely fulfillment of contracts and stable foreign trade demonstrate the sense of responsibility of a conscientious enterprise. Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical has proactively addressed the impact of the pandemic by pursuing a dual-track strategy: maintaining unwavering focus on international trade. Through “online-to-online” and “screen-to-screen” engagement, the company has ensured uninterrupted order fulfillment, continuous order intake, and seamless customer service, thereby earning the trust of international clients and bolstering confidence in bilateral cooperation. As a result, from January to February this year, both foreign-trade sales volume and export value continued to post double-digit growth.
“China’s foreign trade demonstrates strong resilience, and the long-term positive trend remains unchanged. Overseas customers have high expectations of us,” said Li Bo. He added that, moving forward, while continuing to excel in our core export offerings, we will place particular emphasis on ramping up international marketing efforts for new products. At present, we are aligning with overseas customer needs and collaborating closely with them on the preliminary market-access procedures for these new offerings.
