Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Wins Bids for Two Products in National Centralized Procurement

Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a key backbone pharmaceutical enterprise in Hebei Province and one of the top 100 pharmaceutical companies nationwide, successfully won bids for all four specifications across two product categories: doxofylline injection (10 mg:0.1 g) and ambroxol hydrochloride injection (1 ml:7.5 mg, 2 ml:15 mg, 4 ml:30 mg).

On February 3, the highly anticipated fourth round of national centralized drug procurement was officially opened for bidding in Shanghai. Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a key backbone pharmaceutical enterprise in Hebei Province and one of the top 100 pharmaceutical companies nationwide, successfully won bids for all four specifications across two product categories: doxofylline injection (10 mg:0.1 g) and ambroxol hydrochloride injection (1 ml:7.5 mg, 2 ml:15 mg, 4 ml:30 mg). This news has greatly encouraged the company’s more than 4,000 employees, who are currently working hard to resume and reach full production capacity, boosting their morale and motivation.

Doxofylline Injection (10 mg: 0.1 g) and Ambroxol Hydrochloride Injection (1 mL: 7.5 mg, 2 mL: 15 mg, 4 mL: 30 mg) are newly developed aqueous injectable formulations by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and were approved (or deemed to have been approved) in 2020 following the evaluation of generic drug quality and therapeutic equivalence.
This round of national centralized procurement covers 45 drug varieties and 80 dosage forms, including 8 injectable formulations and 3 ophthalmic solutions, with the remainder being oral preparations. The drugs primarily address therapeutic areas such as hypertension, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, mental health conditions, and malignant tumors. Among these varieties, 99% are generic drugs that have passed the evaluation of quality and therapeutic equivalence, while only 2 are originator products, further underscoring the growing substitution effect of generics.
National centralized drug procurement serves as a key indicator of the pharmaceutical industry’s business landscape, directly influencing companies’ product portfolios and market shares; accordingly, it commands significant attention from both the industry and the public. According to available information, this round of procurement features more than five competing firms for 14 products. Notably, over ten companies submitted bids for ambroxol hydrochloride injection, resulting in intense competition—yet Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical emerged victorious thanks to its robust overall competitive advantages. A spokesperson for Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical stated that this successful bid is of great significance for further optimizing the company’s product mix, accelerating the industrialization of new products, and fostering and expanding new growth drivers.
According to reports, patients nationwide are expected to have access to the drugs whose prices were reduced through this centralized procurement in May 2021.
