On June 25, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and China Pharmaceutical University solemnly held a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation agreement and an unveiling ceremony for a joint laboratory. This represents another successful initiative in building a university–enterprise R&D and innovation collaboration platform, which will significantly advance the company’s innovative drug development and the industrialization of high-end pharmaceuticals to new heights.
Lu Tao, Vice President of China Pharmaceutical University, Dai Baojin, Deputy Director of the Shijiazhuang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Board of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group, jointly unveiled the plaque for the joint laboratory.
Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has maintained a long-standing, friendly university–enterprise partnership with China Pharmaceutical University. As a key national “Double First-Class” institution that excels in both teaching and research in the field of pharmacy, China Pharmaceutical University has achieved remarkable results in talent development and drug R&D, yielding abundant and impactful outcomes. The recent signing of a strategic cooperation agreement and the establishment of a joint laboratory with China Pharmaceutical University mark another solid step forward in this collaborative relationship.
This strategic cooperation between Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical and China Pharmaceutical University is anchored in project development, leveraging the complementary strengths of both parties in project resources and talent to align with the company’s industrial development strategy. The collaboration focuses on addressing innovative needs such as novel chemical entities and cutting-edge targeted small-molecule drugs. Through the establishment of a joint laboratory, the partnership will undertake a series of pragmatic initiatives, including technical guidance for generic drug development, evaluation of innovative drug pipeline projects, and co-development of innovative medicines. These efforts aim to cultivate a robust pipeline of high-end innovation talent, enhance the overall efficiency and capability of the company’s innovative drug R&D, and prioritize the transfer, licensing, and commercialization of innovative achievements within the company. The goal is to advance 5 or more Class 1 new drugs into clinical trials within 2 to 3 years and achieve batch production of additional Class 1 new drugs within 3 to 5 years, thereby accelerating the transformation of the company’s supply-side structure, supporting its shift from a single-core business model to a diversified, multi-business approach, and fostering the high-quality development of the province’s biopharmaceutical industry.

In recent years, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical has been driven by innovation, establishing high-level innovation platforms such as a National Enterprise Technology Center, a National–Local Joint Engineering Laboratory, an Academician Workstation, and a Postdoctoral Research Station. These initiatives have accelerated the company’s innovation capacity and capabilities, fostering a new industrial structure characterized by liquid formulations as the foundation, coupled with the coordinated development of specialty APIs, oral and specialty dosage forms, and biologics. Currently, the company has nearly 200 new products in development, with several first-in-class innovative drug programs advancing at an accelerated pace. Each year, more than 20 new product varieties are approved, product dosage forms are becoming increasingly diversified, and the industrial structure is undergoing rapid transformation. The company now boasts multiple competitive advantages—high-end manufacturing, cutting-edge R&D in new technologies, new products, and new materials, leading-edge applications, and successful industrialization—establishing itself as a new benchmark for product innovation in the industry.
The event was chaired by Wu Hengyao, President of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group. Leaders and experts from China Pharmaceutical University, as well as responsible officials from relevant departments of the Shijiazhuang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, attended the ceremony.
