Another piece of good news has emerged from the research efforts at Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group. Recently, the active pharmaceutical ingredient lacosamide, developed and submitted for approval by the Group’s Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., was approved by the National Medical Products Administration and may now be officially used in marketed dosage forms.
Another piece of good news has emerged from the research efforts at Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Group. Recently, the active pharmaceutical ingredient lacosamide, developed and submitted for approval by Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Group, has been approved by the National Medical Products Administration, paving the way for its official use in marketed dosage forms.
According to reports, lacosamide formulations are primarily used in clinical practice for monotherapy and adjunctive therapy of partial-onset seizures in patients aged 4 years and older with epilepsy.
Previously, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical’s lacosamide tablets in 50 mg and 100 mg strengths received drug registration certificates from the National Medical Products Administration and were deemed to have passed the evaluation of quality and therapeutic equivalence for generic drugs. The recent approval of the lacosamide API will further enhance the product’s market competitiveness.
