On August 11, the Symposium on University–City Cooperation and Exchange between Northwest A&F University and Shijiazhuang City, along with the signing and plaque-awarding ceremony, was held in Shijiazhuang. Attending the event were Chen Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of Northwest A&F University; Zhang Zhongliang, a Second-Level Inspector of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party Committee; responsible officials from municipal departments such as the Municipal Organization Department and the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau; as well as relevant representatives from eight enterprises, including Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group and Junlebao Dairy.

During the symposium, representatives from the city and the university engaged in in-depth discussions on talent recruitment and research collaboration. In addition, Northwest A&F University reached preliminary agreements with eight key enterprises, including Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group and Junlebao Group, to jointly establish “Off-Campus Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Internship Bases.”
This signing and award ceremony marks a more solid step forward in our city’s collaboration between government and universities, injecting strong innovative momentum into the development of our city’s leading industries. Moving forward, both sides will further enhance communication and exchange, continuously identify new areas for cooperation, and deepen collaboration in broader fields such as talent exchange and training, attracting outstanding graduates to start businesses and innovate in our city, and fostering research and technological partnerships with key industrial enterprises in our city. Together, we will strive to achieve complementary advantages in resources, shared access to talent and technology, mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, and jointly pursue mutually beneficial development.
According to the introduction, Northwest A&F University, as a university under the national “Double First-Class” initiative, is the country’s most comprehensive institution of higher agricultural education in the fields of agriculture, forestry, and water resources. Ten of its disciplines—agricultural sciences, botany and zoology, engineering, environmental science and ecology, chemistry, biology and biochemistry, among others—have ranked in the top 1% globally in the ESI subject rankings. The university boasts a wealth of talented faculty and robust research capabilities, with its strength disciplines closely aligned with the city’s industrial development priorities, thus offering broad prospects for collaboration and substantial room for growth. Shijiazhuang enjoys a solid foundation for industrial development; taking into account factors such as resource endowments and development potential, the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have explicitly committed to vigorously promoting breakthroughs in two leading industries—next-generation information electronics and biopharmaceuticals—and to strongly fostering five or more industrial clusters each with an output value exceeding RMB 100 billion, including modern food, commerce and logistics, and equipment manufacturing. In particular, with regard to the development of biopharmaceuticals and modern food as its two pillar industries, Shijiazhuang and Northwest A&F University enjoy a strong cooperative foundation and ample opportunities for further collaboration.
