“After years of steady accumulation, our four pharmaceutical subsidiaries have finally seen a breakthrough in new-product development: since September, three new products have been approved for production, bringing the total number of approvals secured so far this year to 29,” said Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, with evident satisfaction. “One promising product after another has received approval—such as mecobalamin injection, which has just passed the consistency evaluation, and bupropion tablets, the first of their kind to be approved for domestic production—continuously injecting fresh momentum into the company’s high-quality development.”
In Workshop 104 of Siyao Pharmaceutical, the filling equipment for aqueous injectable formulations is running at high speed, with products neatly and uniformly emerging from the conveyor belt and “marching” swiftly toward the packaging process.
“Our workshop is currently tasked with producing 5 million vials of bromhexine hydrochloride injection, the drug that won the national centralized procurement bid. To ensure on-time delivery in the fourth quarter, the company has promptly reallocated production resources, and our workshop is operating at full capacity to build up inventory and do everything possible to meet market demand,” said Wang Chao, director of Workshop 104.
“In this year’s seventh round of national centralized procurement, Sihua Pharmaceutical’s bromhexine hydrochloride injection and cefaclor dry suspension—two new products—won bids with a commanding lead, and these products will be marketed in provinces and regions including Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hebei, and Xinjiang.” Su Xuejun told reporters that Sihua Pharmaceutical has now secured wins in eight product categories encompassing 11 specifications through national centralized procurement, which has significantly boosted the company’s market share, optimized its product portfolio, and comprehensively enhanced the market influence of its formulated products. In addition to the rapid market penetration and scale-up of sales for products that have won national procurement contracts, Sihua Pharmaceutical has also seized untapped market opportunities by launching new products such as terbutaline sulfate solution for nebulization, dexmedetomidine hydrochloride injection, bupropion tablets, and rosuvastatin calcium tablets, all of which are unlocking substantial market potential and steadily increasing their share of total sales. From January to August this year, Sihua Pharmaceutical recorded double-digit growth in both revenue and profit taxes.
“We will steadfastly focus on the high-end segments of both the industrial chain and the innovation chain, continuously strengthening our momentum for sustainable development.” In line with this approach, Siyao places great emphasis on the research and development of pioneering new products and vigorously advances the development of a number of critical technologies that have been “choke points,” resulting in a steady stream of innovative achievements. To date this year, Siyao has obtained 29 product approvals, including 19 formulation approvals and 10 API approvals. Notably, four formulation products—such as acetaminophen-mannitol injection and azithromycin dry suspension—are the first of their kind to be approved among domestic pharmaceutical companies. These innovative products serve as a powerful engine for the company’s competitive growth, continually empowering its industrial chain to move up the value chain toward the high-end segment.
