In the crisp, golden autumn of October, the 2023 third-quarter work summary and recognition conference of the Quality Management Center of Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Group was held on the morning of October 15. More than 200 employee representatives from quality management positions across the group gathered to discuss strategies for strengthening the company through quality excellence. Leaders of the group, including Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, and Wu Hengyao, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Liu Qingping, Executive Deputy General Manager of the Quality Management Center.
At the meeting, the 17 department heads of the Quality Management Center presented reports on the implementation of quality-related work in the third quarter of 2023 and outlined their key objectives and action plans for the fourth quarter, followed by questions and feedback from group leadership.
Group President Wu Hengyao read out the “Decision of the Group Quality Management Center on Commending Outstanding Collectives and Individuals for the Third Quarter of 2023,” announcing the recognition of advanced departments and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to quality management.
To the rousing strains of music, representatives of the honored individuals and collectives took to the stage one after another, exuding confidence and enthusiasm as they accepted weighty certificates of honor and trophies from Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Board, and Su Xuejun, Chairman of the Group. The entire audience responded with warm applause in celebration.
Qu Jiguang expressed his gratitude to all quality management personnel for their arduous efforts in advancing the enterprise’s innovative, high-quality development, and extended his congratulations to the outstanding collectives and individuals who were recognized. He noted that at the end of July this year, the Group made adjustments to its quality management system; after more than two months of implementation, these reform measures have largely achieved the intended objectives, playing a pivotal role in strengthening quality control and comprehensively enhancing market competitiveness, while also laying a solid foundation for the Group’s sustained, high-quality development.
To enhance quality management across the entire process and to more effectively, comprehensively, and efficiently achieve the year’s and future quality management objectives, Qu Jiguang made the following requirements: First, fully assume quality responsibilities, stay committed to one’s own job, and rigorously control quality at every critical checkpoint. We must be customer- and market-oriented, adhere to the quality policy of “quality above all else, quality first,” cultivate a sense of setting benchmarks, adopt a zero-tolerance approach, and strengthen daily quality management. This includes conducting process supervision, product inspection, and quality management to high standards, thereby providing full assurance for the enterprise’s steady and sustainable high-quality development. Second, let a spirit of innovation guide quality work with swift yet steady progress. We must keep pace with market developments and changes, attach great importance to the application of new technologies and methodologies, innovate supervisory methods, and nip quality risks in the bud. We should explore new inspection models without being constrained by conventional approaches, optimize inspection procedures, and accelerate our capacity to swiftly take on and commercialize new products. Moreover, we must benchmark against advanced quality management standards such as those set by the WHO, FDA, and the European Union, continuously improve and upgrade our quality management system, expedite international certification, and facilitate smooth domestic–international dual circulation. Third, build a high-caliber team of quality management professionals who are idealistic and principled, technically proficient and innovative, and willing to take responsibility and make selfless contributions. We need to accelerate initiatives to enhance the competence and capabilities of existing quality personnel through external training, internal workshops, and mentorship programs, thereby actively cultivating talent that is both immediately deployable and capable of long-term development across all aspects of quality management. At the same time, we must strengthen the selection, recruitment, and development of quality management talent, strategically attracting and nurturing key and core personnel to quickly create a “geese formation” effect of concentrated excellence.
The summary and commendation conference greatly inspired quality professionals, who unanimously pledged to take the event as an opportunity to emancipate their minds, forge ahead with determination, hone their skills, and shoulder the important responsibility of building a strong enterprise through quality and serving the nation through quality. They committed to producing safe and reliable medicines to even higher standards, thereby contributing the efforts of Shisi Pharmaceutical’s quality team to better safeguard public health and advance the Healthy China initiative.
