On the morning of January 27, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group held the 2024 Policy and Objective Launch Conference for its R&D and Quality Management Centers, along with the Q4 2023 Summary and Awards Ceremony. Leaders of the Group, including Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, Sun Lijie, and Tian Pengmei, together with more than 200 research and management personnel from the R&D Center, Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Research Institute, Bosheng Pharmaceutical Research Institute, Hanlin Company, and the Quality Management Center, convened to jointly deliberate on new, effective strategies for advancing high-level, self-reliant R&D and for enhancing the quality and efficiency of quality management. The event was chaired by Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of the Group’s R&D Center.

The surging spring tide urges us forward, as phoenixes and cranes gather in flight toward the future. On the morning of January 27, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group held the 2024 Policy and Objective Launch Conference for its R&D Center and Quality Management Center, along with the Q4 2023 Summary and Awards Ceremony. Leaders of the Group—Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, Sun Lijie, Tian Pengmei, and others—joined more than 200 research and management personnel from the R&D Center, Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Research Institute, Bosheng Pharmaceutical Research Institute, Hanlin Company, and the Quality Management Center, convening in full force to jointly deliberate new, effective strategies for achieving high-level, self-reliant R&D and for enhancing the quality and efficiency of quality management. The event was chaired by Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of the Group’s R&D Center.

At the meeting, heads of R&D centers—including the API Research Institute, Liquid Formulation Research Institute, Solid Dosage Form Research Institute, and Innovation Research Institute—as well as project leaders from the Quality Management Center—namely the Quality Management Department, Quality Assurance Department, and Comprehensive Testing Department—presented reports on the implementation of 2023 work and the key priorities for 2024. Group leaders then provided feedback on the research and development and quality management projects to be prioritized in 2024.

During the meeting, the list of outstanding departments and individuals for the fourth quarter from the R&D Center and the Quality Management Center was announced. The honored individuals and representatives of the outstanding teams confidently took to the stage and received cash awards, certificates, and medals from group leaders Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, and other officials. The entire audience responded with enthusiastic applause, extending their congratulations to the winners.

At the meeting, Sun Lijie, Group Executive President and General Manager of the R&D Center, provided a thorough analysis of the current situation and outlined requirements for the next phase, including accelerating the improvement in quality and pace of research projects, strengthening talent development, and refining the performance appraisal system.

Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, expressed full appreciation for the announcement of the mission and objectives of the various departments within the R&D Center and the Quality Management Center, and extended his congratulations to the outstanding teams and individuals who were commended. He noted that in 2023, the vast majority of research and quality management personnel worked diligently and persevered in overcoming challenges, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility—“Only we can drive the enterprise forward through practical action”—and achieving remarkable results and significant outcomes in both research and development and quality management. As a result, the Group’s R&D efficiency has taken the lead nationwide in the industry, while its robust quality management system has effectively empowered the Group’s high-quality development.

Qu Jiguang emphasized that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and is a pivotal year for the Group in implementing the 14th Five-Year Plan and striving to achieve the RMB 10 billion revenue target. He underscored that consistently strengthening R&D innovation and quality management is essential to ensuring the successful attainment of these objectives. R&D is the core, quality is the foundation, and the market is the key; only when these three elements reinforce one another can the Group achieve high-quality, sustainable, and long-term development while growing stronger and larger. To this end, he called for: first, coordinated advancement of R&D efforts across the Group’s three major research institutes—Guangxiang, Bosheng, and the Group’s central institute—while strategically planning and developing products such as first-generic drugs, high-end complex formulations, improved new drugs, innovative drugs, specialty APIs, novel pharmaceutical packaging materials, biologics, and medical devices, thereby continuously elevating the Group’s R&D innovation capabilities. Second, full accountability and dedication to duty, coupled with a deep appreciation for the prestigious national “Quality Benchmark” award, to establish an unwavering quality-management foundation through a “zero-tolerance” approach and to build a high-standard, quality-driven, value-creating enterprise.

Building an enterprise that is strong in innovation and quality requires perseverance, emphasis on action, and a commitment to continuous renewal. Qu Jiguang warmly encouraged researchers and quality management professionals to remain humble and patient, to strive unremittingly, to set new goals and achieve new accomplishments, and to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China with tangible results in improving quality and boosting efficiency.

The meeting left the Group’s extensive ranks of R&D and quality management personnel thoroughly inspired and greatly encouraged. All participants pledged to adopt the attitude of dedicated strivers and the courage of pioneers, steadfastly maintaining the vigorous spirit of “pressing forward all the more in the face of hardship,” firmly anchoring their vision on world-class standards, and striving to shoulder new responsibilities and deliver new achievements in driving innovative, high-quality development of Shijiazhuang’s biopharmaceutical industry.
