【SUMMARY】 On the evening of January 26, the 2023 “Touching the Provincial Capital” Top Ten Individuals Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shijiazhuang Municipal Committee, Shijiazhuang Daily, and Shijiazhuang Radio and Television Station, was solemnly held in the studio hall of Shijiazhuang Radio and Television Station, where the long-awaited list of the 2023 “Touching the Provincial Capital” Top Ten Individuals was unveiled on the spot. Wei Saili, a research scientist at Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, was successfully selected and awarded the title of one of the 2023 “Touching the Provincial Capital” Top Ten Individuals, bringing great honor to her company.

Wei Saili is the leader of API research at the R&D Center of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group. Over the past 11 years, she has focused closely on national strategies and market demands, tackled tough challenges, and resolved a series of critical technological bottlenecks. She has participated in more than 10 provincial and municipal clinical trials and research projects for pharmaceuticals, and has been awarded one Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Achievement Award and one Shijiazhuang Municipal Science and Technology Award, as well as obtaining 10 national patents. Wei Saili has also been recognized as a “Young Top-Tier Talent” of Hebei Province, selected as a technical expert in the Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Expert Database, served as the inaugural rotating chair of the Yan Zhao Women Craftsmen Biopharmaceutical Innovation Alliance, and received the Hebei May Day Labor Medal. Through her dedicated work on the front lines of scientific research, she exemplifies the sense of responsibility and commitment that a researcher should embody in contributing to the high-quality development of Shijiazhuang’s biopharmaceutical industry.

According to reports, since 2005 the “Touching the Provincial Capital” Top Ten Individuals selection event has now entered its nineteenth year, having honored a total of 190 individuals and groups for their inspiring contributions. It has become one of the longest-running, most influential, and most widely participated brand initiatives in the field of spiritual civilization development in the provincial capital, and has established itself as a flagship public-service project for promoting spiritual civilization in Hebei Province’s capital city.

The candidacies for the “Top Ten Touching Figures of the Provincial Capital” for 2023 are deeply moving and align perfectly with the theme of the “Power of Character, Role Models of the City” campaign. They reflect the ambitious spirit of the city’s residents in this “year of leapfrog development and year of showcasing achievements”—a spirit of rolling up their sleeves and working hard, pressing forward undeterred by any challenge—and highlight the personal charisma and uplifting ethos of all sectors of society as they accelerate the building of a modern, international, and beautiful provincial capital.

This year’s Ceremony for Honoring Touching Figures made comprehensive use of lighting, LED displays, sound systems, and other state-of-the-art equipment to create a grand and solemn stage presentation, bringing the honorees’ images to vivid life. Through segments such as the unveiling of the honorees, the screening of their inspiring stories, and brief interviews, the ceremony delved deeply into the profound meaning of what makes someone truly moving, fully showcasing the inner virtues and compelling personal strength of the ten individuals (or groups) honored. The production team meticulously selected and rehearsed a variety of performances, including solo songs and group dances, while more than 200 citizen representatives from all sectors of the provincial capital attended the event in person, experiencing one powerful emotional impact after another, met with tears and sustained applause.
