A Patent from Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group Selected as an Outstanding Provincial Case of Patent Commercialization

On April 24, the Hebei Provincial Administration for Market Regulation issued the “Notice on Identifying Typical and Outstanding Cases of Patent Commercialization in Hebei Province,” under which 10 typical cases and 15 outstanding cases of patent commercialization were selected. Notably, the case submitted by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, titled “Technical Support, Market Deployment, and Standardization Promotion—Driving the Commercialization of the Cefdinir Capsule Patent,” was recognized as an outstanding provincial case of patent commercialization.

The outstanding case of industrializing cefdinir capsules identified in this initiative fully demonstrates how the company adopts a problem-oriented approach. By focusing on key challenges such as poor solubility, poor flowability, and low dissolution rate of cefdinir, the company has leveraged “technological innovation, market deployment, and standardization innovation” to develop and implement targeted improvement measures. As a result, it has secured one core patent for “a cefdinir capsule and its preparation method,” along with three additional patents related to pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. Furthermore, through industry–university–research collaboration and iterative optimization via small-scale and pilot-scale trials, the company has successfully upgraded and commercialized its patented product.
In recent years, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has aligned its operations with national strategic priorities and market demand, continuously optimizing its product manufacturing processes. With a focus on consistently enhancing product quality, the company has pursued the industrialization of its patented technologies, thereby developing proprietary intellectual property–based products and industries and gaining greater competitive advantage in the marketplace. At the same time, the Group has strengthened industry–university–research collaboration, bolstered talent development and technological support, and jointly established innovation centers with numerous universities and research institutes to provide robust technical backing for product innovation. In addition, through the implementation of key demonstration projects and the vigorous promotion of standards, core patented technologies have been translated into industry standards, further expanding the scale of patent commercialization and solidifying the Group’s competitive edge. To date, the Group has filed a total of 450 patent applications and obtained 288 patents, including 153 invention patents. In 2022, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical was recognized as a National Intellectual Property Demonstration Enterprise. Furthermore, three of the Group’s products were successfully included in the first batch of patent-intensive products announced by the China National Intellectual Property Administration for 2023.
