On July 4, the 9th China Pharmaceutical R&D Innovation Summit 2024 was grandly inaugurated at the Xiong’an New Area Convention and Exhibition Center, where a series of prestigious rankings were officially unveiled, including the “Top 100 Chinese Pharmaceutical R&D Comprehensive Strength Rankings 2024” and the “Top 100 Chinese Chemical Pharmaceutical R&D Strength Rankings 2024.” Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group was honored to be listed in both the “Top 100 Chinese Pharmaceutical R&D Comprehensive Strength Rankings 2024” and the “Top 100 Chinese Chemical Pharmaceutical R&D Strength Rankings 2024,” ranking 28th and 12th, respectively. In addition, Xia Guolong, Deputy General Manager of the Group’s R&D Center, was recognized as a “2024 Leading Figure in Chinese Pharmaceutical Innovation.”

According to available information, the China Pharmaceutical R&D Strength Ranking series was first published in 2016 and has since been released for nine consecutive editions. This year’s ranking was compiled by Yaozhi Network, the Expert Committee of the Pharmaceutical R&D Strength Ranking, and the Organizing Committee of the 2024 China Pharmaceutical R&D Innovation Summit, based on a weighted calculation across six key dimensions: “domestic drug registration and approval status in 2023, pharmaceutical companies’ R&D investment, domestic clinical trials for drugs, overseas drug R&D, patent activity, and the 2023 Pharmaceutical R&D Rankings.” The resulting list provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall R&D capabilities of domestic pharmaceutical enterprises.
In recent years, the Group has steadfastly pursued a path of innovative development that integrates generic drug replication with original innovation, taking the health needs of the people and the demands of the industrial value chain as its starting point. The Group has continuously increased its investment in R&D, advanced the integrated development of active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms, and strategically positioned itself in key therapeutic areas—including anti-infectives, respiratory diseases, neurological disorders, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular conditions, gastrointestinal diseases, anesthesia, endocrinology, oncology, and dialysis—while actively building a high-performance innovation ecosystem. As a result, the Group’s core competitiveness, driven by both high-end complex generics and innovative medicines, is accelerating its formation; its product pipeline is becoming increasingly rich and diversified; and it has established a distinctive product-chain layout and new competitive advantages in the industry. In 2023, the Group’s relentless efforts in product iteration and innovation culminated in the approval of 88 new products, placing it among the leaders in the industry in terms of both the number of submissions and approvals. Since the beginning of 2024, the Group has secured approval for an additional 52 new products, with R&D quality and efficiency surpassing the levels recorded during the same period last year. These innovations have effectively facilitated the continuous optimization of the company’s supply structure, enhanced the quality and efficiency of its scale-driven growth, and propelled a significant leap forward in its industry influence and competitiveness.
During the summit, Sun Lijie, Group Executive President and General Manager of the R&D Center, served as an invited guest and shared practical insights on “Project Initiation and R&D of Improved Drugs” with attending leaders, academic experts, and corporate executives, focusing on innovation and development within the biopharmaceutical industry chain.
