Recently, the 2024 Hebei Province Green Manufacturing List was officially released, with Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group’s Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. included on the provincial list of green factories.

In recent years, Guolong Pharmaceutical has set the goal of building a green factory and aligned its efforts with the objective of establishing a fully integrated green production chain, thereby laying a robust green foundation for high-quality development. The company is committed to pursuing sustainable development by benchmarking against the “intensive plant design, harmless raw materials, clean production processes, waste resource utilization, and low-carbon energy use” standards advocated for green factories. To this end, it has actively undertaken technological upgrades, vigorously introduced advanced green, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly equipment, and continuously enhanced energy conservation and emission reduction, cost control, process optimization, and production efficiency. In doing so, Guolong Pharmaceutical has comprehensively established a modern corporate development model in which green, low-carbon transformation and the empowerment of green development mutually reinforce and deeply integrate with one another.

Moving forward in pursuit of “green” development and driving innovation. In recent years, Guolong Pharmaceutical has focused on green development, accelerated its digital transformation, and elevated its level of intelligent manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on exploring and implementing best practices in green process selection, improving raw-material utilization, reducing solvent consumption, and minimizing waste generation at every stage of production. To date, the digitalization rate of Guolong’s production equipment has reached 76%, and the network connectivity rate of digitally enabled equipment stands at 72%. In the industrial-scale production of its hydroxyethyl starch product line, the company has developed and applied targeted stereoselective substitution technology, reducing ethylene oxide usage by 30%. Furthermore, during the manufacture of azithromycin, all solvents are recovered and reused, resulting in a 90% reduction in ethanol-based solvent consumption. This commitment to green development has provided Guolong Pharmaceutical with robust momentum and long-term sustainability. The company has successively obtained numerous domestic and international certifications, including HACCP, Kosher, and the latest version of GMP. Its signature active pharmaceutical ingredients—such as the hydroxyethyl starch series, azithromycin, buspirone, stibogluconate, and arbidol—are highly favored in both domestic and international markets. Guolong has also been recognized as a Model Specialized, Sophisticated, and Novel Enterprise of Hebei Province, a Provincial Science-and-Technology-Based SME, a Provincial Technology-Innovation Demonstration Enterprise, a Provincial Manufacturing Single-Champion, a Provincial Quality Benchmark, and a Provincial Innovative SME, among other prestigious accolades.

Li Zhihui, Chairman of Guolong Pharmaceutical, stated that the company will, in the next phase, integrate the concept of green development into every aspect of its production and operations, continuously advance the establishment of a green manufacturing system, and achieve an organic synergy among ecological and environmental protection, economic benefits, and social benefits.
