Recently, the Employee Innovation Studio—led by He Yazhuo, a recognized innovator within the company and serving as a hub for training, skill development, capability enhancement, and problem-solving—underwent an inspection by the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions. The federation’s leadership commended the studio’s progress in its establishment and, just recently, designated it as one of the eighth batch of Shijiazhuang City Employee Innovation Studios.

Since 2016, taking the establishment of the “He Yazhuo Innovation Studio” as an opportunity, the company has actively explored and built a platform for mass innovation, carried out in-depth mass innovation activities, and achieved remarkable results. To date, the “He Yazhuo Innovation Studio” has attracted the active participation of 21 innovation enthusiasts, bringing together skilled craftsmen from the production front line and “little strategists” who are adept at in-depth research and problem-solving. By pooling collective wisdom and expertise, the studio has conducted technical exchanges, tackled key technical challenges, promoted technological innovation, and implemented process improvements, thereby helping workshops resolve bottlenecks and obstacles in production processes and operational procedures. As a result, a steady stream of new technological achievements has been generated, many of which have been extensively applied in safe production practices.

The Innovation Studio is tasked with not only driving technological innovation but also integrating innovative outcomes into production management and project development, ultimately maximizing value creation. Centered on innovation, the studio uses project-based research and application as its primary vehicle, fostering a collaborative approach in which one individual identifies a problem while multiple team members work together to solve it and share knowledge and experience, thereby advancing collectively and continuously improving. “There will inevitably be some discrepancies between product design and actual operations, but these seemingly minor details must never be overlooked—every small improvement can conceal substantial value.” He Yazhuo, who has worked at Siyao for 12 years, deeply understands the importance of process rationality. Since the establishment of the Innovation Studio, he has consistently prioritized innovation and continuous improvement, making the enhancement of product-process rationality the guiding principle of his work. To date, the studio has generated 294 innovative achievements, including four national invention patents; 13 of these have been rolled out across the company, yielding direct economic benefits of RMB 5.2769 million. Moreover, through equipment and technology upgrades driven by innovation, the studio has significantly reduced workers’ physical workload.

Launching mass-based economic and technological innovation initiatives is an effective way to mobilize employees’ enthusiasm and creativity, and it serves as a “golden key” for ensuring the survival and sustainable development of the enterprise. Today at Siyao, employee innovation has become a widespread trend, yielding abundant results. These achievements would not have been possible without the employee innovation studios initiated by the trade union, which have provided a broad platform for the growth of outstanding employees. Every employee is a protagonist who can step onto the stage to showcase their talents and wisdom, and this approach has now become a signature brand of the company’s trade union.

“To enhance the reputation of this signature brand, we have introduced a series of policies to accelerate employees’ innovation efforts,” said a representative from the company’s trade union. “The Innovation Studio holds centralized activities once every quarter, focusing on innovations in management and services, breakthroughs in key technologies, technological innovation, and skills training. We encourage the studio to organize study and exchange programs, actively engage young employees, and improve the overall competence of our workforce through mentorship and apprenticeship arrangements.”

Throughout the years, the company’s trade union has been committed to building a strong workforce. Leveraging innovation studios as a platform, it has spearheaded initiatives such as rationalization proposal programs, mentorship and apprenticeship schemes, skills competitions, and innovation exchange activities, thereby effectively advancing the integration of enterprise innovation resources and the exploration of innovative mechanisms. As a result, the company has achieved remarkable progress in its mass innovation efforts and in cultivating a pool of skilled artisans and craftsmen.
